:::That is admittedly a very small reason. Just by the fact the game gives them the same number as their parent unlike other clones just makes it more obvious that they're technically a part of the character and "don't count" when counting every fighter by number. ::::Fair, but this is getting a bit off topic on what's being discussed here. The point is that echoes, whether they are considered the same character or not by the game, do not always share the same slot on the CSS, and making a special parameter just for characters that "can" share a slot is superfluous.
