The King Dedede and Ridley minions each represent Chang and Choi, a pair of criminals who make up Team Korea with Kim in the King of Fighters series. The Giant King Dedede and Chang Koehan are both large and heavy characters who wield a massive weapon. The Tiny Ridley and Choi Bounge are both small but nimble characters who frequently use claws for combat. The music references Korea, Kim's stage in Fatal Fury 2. The second battle condition references the fight set up in The King of Fighters series, where teams of three are fought one at a time.

The stage and music reference Geese Tower, Geese's stage in the Fatal Fury series. The Mii Brawler's frequent grab-and-throw moves and this spirit's Grab battle type reference Geese's various grapple and throw-based moves in the Fatal Fury series. The Mii Brawler's moveset references Geese's moveset in the Fatal Fury series which includes: Flashing Mach Punch (referencing the Deadly Rave), Suplex (referencing the Jōdan'ateminage) and Counter Throw (referencing the Chūdan'ateminage). Other trivia: This spirit's Critical Fast Final Smash Meter ↑ ↑ ability references Geese's ability to gather chi from Gaia, which he controls and incorporates into his strongest attacks.

Trivia

• Curiously, none of the Fatal Fury spirit battles feature Terry as puppet fighters, making the series one of the three playable universes to not feature all playable characters from the series in their spirit battles with the others being Mario and Final Fantasy.
• With a total of 5 spirits, Fatal Fury has the least amount of spirits among the DLC universes in Ultimate, although it shares its Spirit Board with the other SNK universes.
• All Fatal Fury spirit battles have reduced jump power and are in Stamina Mode (excluding Kim's), similar to the Street Fighter spirit battles.
• The Fatal Fury franchise is the first set of DLC spirit battles to not have its respective fighter appear in a spirit battle.
