The following is a list of victory poses in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, shown in the order of the left, up, and right buttons on the D-pad that can determine them. For the accompanying music, see victory themes.

Banjo & Kazooie

  • Left: Banjo throws a Jiggy in the air, catches it, jumps, and poses. This references his brief dance seen when he collects a Jiggy in Banjo-Kazooie. Afterward, Banjo gives a thumbs-up while performing his signature "Guh-Huh!", similar to the beginning of Banjo-Kazooie's intro movie.
  • Up: Banjo walks in place briefly before bowing twice, saying "Guh-Huh!" both times, ending with Kazooie poking out of his backpack. The animation is almost identical to that seen when all 10 Jiggies in a world are collected or when a Note Door is unlocked in Banjo-Kazooie.
  • Right: Both dance around while playing their respective instruments, and then end in a pose referencing the ending of Banjo-Kazooie's intro movie. The pose is also similar to the one they assume in their reveal trailer.

Bayonetta

All of Bayonetta's victory quotes are based on taunts from Bayonetta 2 while wielding various weapons; the associated weapon for each is listed in parentheses.

  • Left: Dances and says "Miss me, baby?" (Chernobog; "私はここよ", I'm right here.). The dance is similar to her down taunt, with a slightly different ending pose.
  • Up: Performs the Break Dance move then strikes a pose, saying "Dreadful." (gun-type weapons or Rodin; "退屈だわ", Boring.) or "Don't make me beg." (Takemikazuchi; "遠慮しないで", Don't be shy.). The ending pose is similar to her crouch.
  • Right: Bayonetta steps back and sticks up her guns, pirouettes like a ballerina, then aims her guns to the right with a pose, saying "That all you got?" (Alruna; "全力を見せてよ", Show me your full power.) or "You're making it easy." (Rakshasa; "楽勝ね", Too easy.).

Bowser

  • Left: Rears his head back and sways it forward, then stomps and spreads his arms while roaring, ending in a celebratory pose.
  • Up: Runs into the scene and slashes down with his claws twice.
  • Right: Breathes fire around himself, then assumes a celebratory pose similar to his render from SSB4.

Bowser Jr.

  • Left: Jumps out of the Clown Car, hops in celebration twice, then poses.
  • Up: From the side of the screen, drives the Clown Car in its go-kart form, performs a donut before coming to a stop and pulls out a hammer (or a wand, if playing as a Koopaling).
  • Right: Dismounts from the Clown Car using its left grabber claw and pats it with his right hand.

Byleth

  • Left: Swings the Sword of the Creator outward, saying "Allow me to demonstrate!" He then raises his left hand towards his chest as he looks outward. Based on Byleth's victory pose when wielding a sword, combined with one of his critical hit quotes.
    • In the female variant of this pose, she holds the sword behind her in a reverse grip after swinging it. She also looks toward the screen as opposed to looking into the distance.
  • Up: Plants the Sword of the Creator into the ground along with the other Hero's Relics which are also planted into the ground. They proceed to say "Each battle, a chance to grow." Afterward, they swing their left arm out while facing their back to the screen and then lower said arm to their side. Combines their win quote after a battle with the game over screen, where all four main Relics are planted on the ground.
  • Right: With the Sword of the Creator in its whip form, Byleth swings it around the front of his body in a circular motion, saying "No hesitation!" After striking the ground, the sword reverts back to its original form, with Byleth posing with it held in a standard grip. Uses the quote from his critical hit activation.
    • In the female variant of the pose, she swings the whip in front of herself twice (each time in a different direction), and then holds it up towards her face in a vertical manner.

Captain Falcon

  • Left: Kneels while charging himself up with a flaming aura, similarly to his up taunt and one of his Smash 64 poses.
  • Up: Performs a 540 kick and then assumes a crouching fighting stance.
  • Right: Performs an inverted roundhouse kick, then a regular roundhouse kick, and then another inverted roundhouse kick before striking a pose.

Chrom

In any victory pose, there is a chance Chrom will say "Our bond is stronger than steel." ("いつでも稽古をつけてやる", We can practice anytime.) if Lucina was present during the match.

  • Left: Swipes his sword twice and twirls it before posing with his sword in front of himself, while saying "Anything can change!" (運命を変える!, Change destiny!). Based on his and Lucina's trademark pose, which they frequently use in official art.
  • Up: Rushes forward, performing an upwards slash, before twirling his sword and posing while pointing his weapon towards the camera, saying "The training paid off!" (いつでもかかってこい, Come at me anytime.). Based on Awakening Aether.
  • Right: Performs an outward slash, twirls his sword, then plants it into the ground before posing, saying "I will cut a path!" (俺が道を切り拓く!, I will cut a path!). Based on his victory pose in Fire Emblem Awakening.

Cloud

  • Left: Twirls the Buster Sword with one hand and places it on his back with his eyes closed, and says "悪く思うな", which translates to "No hard feelings." Based on his victory animation in Final Fantasy VII.
  • Up: While turning away from the camera, he twirls the Buster Sword, places it on his back and then looks to the left while hiding his face, saying "ついてないな", which translates to "Better luck next time." Based on his appearance in the box art of Final Fantasy VII and his pose when he first enters Shinra Headquarters.
  • Right: Dashes into the screen, slashes the Buster Sword twice, and gets in his battle stance while saying "お前 は 俺 を 倒せない", which translates to "You cannot defeat me."

Corrin

  • Left: Swings the Omega Yato. Male Corrin says "I win!" ("勝負あったね", That's game.), while female Corrin says "Good!" ("勝負ありました", That was game.). Resembles Corrin's battle entrance animation from Fire Emblem Fates.
  • Up: Twirls the Omega Yato overhead and places it on its tip, similar to one of Corrin's taunts. Male Corrin says "That went well!" ("上手くいったね", That went well.), while female Corrin says "That was great." ("上手くいきました", That went well.). Resembles Corrin's animation after a battle in Fire Emblem Fates.
  • Right: Crosses both arms, then morphs into dragon form while emitting a flourish of water, roaring to the skies.

Daisy

  • Left: Stretches her back towards her right side, then points skyward while exclaiming "Yeah!". The final pose resembles the end of her Hole-in-One animation in Mario Golf: World Tour, albeit mirrored.
  • Up: Jumps for joy twice (assuming the same pose as in her official render during the second jump) while exclaiming "Whoo-hoo!", then poses with her right arm on her hip and her left arm bent, all while smiling. Her teeth are visible in her smile. The pose she assumes at the end is identical to that of Peach's "Up" victory animation.
  • Right: Twirls into the scene while exclaiming "Whoo!", then winks with a sideways peace sign. The initial twirling resembles her Hole-in-One and Birdie animations in Mario Golf: World Tour.

Dark Pit

  • Left: Flies down, sticks his Silver Bow to the ground, then crosses his arms before saying "Can't help but feel sorry for ya." ("貴様らに舞い降りる翼はない。", Wings aren't swooping down at all of you.).

  • Right: Spreads his right hand to the side before pumping his fist out in front of him, saying "Nice try." ("ふん! しゃらくさい。", Hmph! Impudent.).
    • If Pit was present in the match, there is a chance he will instead say "Where's your goddess now?" ("どうだ? 女神のフンめ。", How's that? Piece of goddess crap.).

Dark Samus

  • Left: Raises her arm and lowers it in a fist pump pose. Based off of her birth in the secret 100% ending of Metroid Prime.
  • Up: Splits from a Dark Echo with an acrobatic cartwheel. They then levitate in a circle around an axis before recombining together. Based on her final battle in Metroid Prime 3: Corruption. Dark Samus then poses with her free hand on her Arm Cannon, which is pointed upward. The pose resembles Samus' own render in Ultimate and Metroid: Other M.
  • Right: Turns toward the camera while glowing with Phazon, then the camera dramatically zooms in, showing two of her eyes. Similar to SA-X's introduction in Metroid Fusion, another clone of Samus.

Diddy Kong

  • Left: Shoots 3 times with his Peanut Popguns (first with the right, then with the left, then the right again). Afterwards rolls towards the camera, and fires one more shot from his left Peanut Popgun.
  • Up: Rises from the ground with his Rocket Barrels. After doing a spin, he dismounts from them, causing them to fly away. Upon landing, he then faces the screen, dancing with hands on his head and chin.
  • Right: Performs an inverted spin kick, followed by a slap, and then he slams both of his hands on the ground, performing a front flip. He ends up balancing on his hand in a breakdance-like pose, clapping his feet together.

Donkey Kong

  • Left: Does a backflip and flexes his arms (his "character chosen" animation in Super Smash Bros.).

  • Right: Summons a Wild Gunman to shoot to the left, then another one to shoot to the right. He then continuously holds the pose used to summon them. The Wild Gunmen don't appear in Team Battles.

Falco

  • Left: Does a flurry of rapid kicks then poses, saying "Had enough already?" ("くたばるのはまだ早ぇぜ。", Too early to kick the bucket just yet.).
    • If Fox was present in the match, there's a chance he will say "You're off your game, Fox!" ("腕が落ちたな、フォックス。", Your skills have fallen off, Fox.).
  • Up: Jumps high into the air and poses on the ground, scoffing. His ending pose is reminiscent of his artwork in Smash 4.
  • Right: Walks up towards the camera, shrugs, and crosses his arms, saying "Sorry! Gotta jet!" ("付き合ってらんねぇな。", Not worth associating with.).

Fox

  • Left: Fox holds out his Blaster, then proceeds to spin it in his hand before putting it in his holster, saying "This is Fox. Returning to base." ("こちらフォックス、これより帰還する。", This is Fox, heading back.).
    • If Falco was present in the match, there's a chance he will say "Better luck next time, Falco." ("まだまだだな、ファルコ。", Not just yet, Falco.) instead.
  • Up: Points his Blaster to the right, then the left, and then points it to the right again, saying "Mission complete!" ("作戦完了!", Operation complete!).
  • Right: Crosses his arms, looks upward, and raises his tail (his "character chosen" animation and taunt in Super Smash Bros.).

Ganondorf

  • Left: Turns to his left, flips his cape, and pumps his fist, showing the back of it. Resembles the way Ganondorf beckons Link into his battle in Ocarina of Time.
  • Up: Briefly levitates in the air before landing on the ground while punching his palm, then reels back and thrusts his hand towards the screen.
  • Right: Flips his cape, crossing his arms, and laughs.

Greninja

  • Left: Does a few hand seals with splashing water, and then a ninja pose. It resembles one of its attack animations in Pokémon X and Y.
  • Up: Performs Double Team to briefly create three afterimages of itself.
  • Right: Does a flip, lands in a spinning pose, and crosses its arms.

Hero

  • Left: The Hero raises his sword in the air, slashes twice and finishes in a pose.
  • Up: The Hero performs Kazap and strikes a pose.
  • Right: The Hero walks up to three Slimes, kneels down and looks at them with a smile. The camera angle before the Hero appears also references the first-person battle screens of most Dragon Quest games.

  • Up: Both nod and high five one another.
  • Right: Nana hides behind Popo, only showing her face as Popo shifts from left to right.

  • Up: Forcefully plants Ragnell into the ground, then crosses his arms. Path of Radiance Ike says, "I submit to no one." ("誰にも、譲る気はない", I cannot yield to anyone.), while Radiant Dawn Ike says, "I must move forward." ("俺は前に進む", I move forward.).
  • Right: Performs Aether while facing the screen. Path of Radiance Ike says, "You'll get no sympathy from me." ("極めれば…誰にも負けはしない", To the end... I will not lose to anyone.), while Radiant Dawn Ike says, "I fight for my friends." ("俺には守るべき物が在る", I have things I must protect.).

Incineroar

  • Left: Roars as its flame belt ignites, then punches towards the camera with a mocking expression.
  • Up: Laughs and raises a Champion belt in the air, then makes a beckoning gesture.
  • Right: Swings both its arms left and right, before posing on one knee and roaring.

Inkling

All of Inkling's animations are based on the victory poses when using particular weapons in Splatoon and its sequel. The animations vary between female and male costumes.

  • Left: Jumps for joy twice, spins around, and poses with the Splattershot. Based on the victory animation when using a Shooter-type weapon in Splatoon 2. The initial animation is based off the male Inkling's animation with the weapon of the same type in Splatoon. This pose is slightly altered for the male Inkling.
  • Up: Sways the Splat Roller from side to side, before striking a pose while resting the Roller's handle against a shoulder. This victory pose combines the victory animations in Splatoon and Splatoon 2 when the Inkling uses a Roller-type weapon. The male Inkling rests his hand on his hip.
  • Right: Tosses the Slosher upward with their right arm and catches it in their left whilst spinning. They then toss it upwards a second time , posing with their left arm on their hip while the Slosher spins on their right index finger. Based on the female Inkling's victory animation when using a Slosher-type weapon in Splatoon.

  • Up: Waves goodbye to a Lloid Trap as he flies upwards in the background, then turns toward the camera with a pose similar to her official render.
  • Right: Dusts herself off, jumps twice, and poses triumphantly with her hands on her hips. Her end pose is based on the "Pride" emotion from the Animal Crossing series.

Jigglypuff

  • Left: Jumps twice, twirls, and poses similar to its official SSB4 render.
  • Up: Runs into the scene, almost loses its balance, then backflips and poses. Its final pose is similar to its artwork in Pokémon FireRed and LeafGreen Versions.
  • Right: Sleeps and then suddenly wakes up, continuing to drift in and out of consciousness.

Joker

Note: Joker has a unique victory screen based on the results screen from Persona 5.

    • Left: Morgana happily bounces around Joker. Joker gestures to the bouncing Morgana before running towards the left.
    • Up: Joker scratches his head as Morgana, transformed as the Morganamobile, drives up next to Joker, picks him up, and drives towards the left.
    • Right: Morgana runs toward the screen, which ends up hitting him in the face. Joker gestures to Morgana before running towards the left.
  • Special: If Joker finishes a Stock match with his Final Smash, the splash screen will persist into the results screen, similarly to Persona 5.

The color of Joker's victory screen can also change. If playing on any stage other than Mementos with three or more players, Joker's results screen color will match the player port color (though the background will remain red). If playing on Mementos, Joker's results screen will match the color and aesthetic of the stage, and his victory theme will change to music from the corresponding game. The color of Mementos takes priority over his team and player port color. If Stage Morph triggers, the victory theme's color will remain if Mementos's song has played. However, this does not occur if the song plays on a custom stage, Battlefield, Small Battlefield, Big Battlefield, or Final Destination.

If Joker is in a Team Battle and someone else is in front, he uses a unique animation: he tightens his glove, similarly to the pose he does at the end of his Final Smash, then assumes a pose similar to his idle stance. [1]

Ken

  • Left: Brushes his hair before giving a thumbs-up to the camera, saying "I did it!" ("やったぜ!", I did it!). Based off of his Street Fighter Alpha victory pose, which recurs throughout the series.

Based off of his victory pose throughout the series, specifically his Street Fighter V variant.

  • Up: Enters from the side of the screen hovering. She then briefly spins her staff in front of herself telekinetically, catches it, and stands with it pointed outwards. During the pose, she says "Too bad for you." ("ちょっと大人げなかったかしら?", Was that a bit immature?).
    • If Dark Pit was present in the match, there is a chance she will instead say "Poor little Pittoo." ("いつまでも意地っ張りですね~", Forever a nuisance...!).
  • Right: Uses her staff to briefly perform the Backwards Showgirl (a pole dancing move) before assuming a seated stance while floating and laughs. In the Japanese version, she says ("本気出してもいいんですよ。", It's all right to fight seriously.).

Peach

  • Left: Whilst motioning from right to left, she leans on her parasol. She then raises it while doing a stationary twirl, and poses with it open while resting it on her shoulder. Throughout the motioning, she says "Aw, did I win?"
  • Up: Twirls with her arms raised as hearts surround her. Afterwards, she poses with her right hand on her hip and her left hand up towards her chest while saying "This is fun!"
  • Right: Waves while walking forward, blows a kiss (in the form of a pink heart), and says "Peachy!" Afterwards, she rests her right arm across her waist, and waves with her left hand.

Pichu

  • Up: Cheers twice (facing to the right first and the left second), jumps thrice while spinning, and poses with its left hand raised, chanting "Pichu, Pichu!"
  • Left: Jumps three times, with the third jump, which is done while spinning, being higher than the first two. While in midair, Pichu waves both of its arms. After landing, Pichu raises both of its arms and arches towards its left side. During the pose, Pichu says "Pi-Pi-Pichu!" in sync with each jump.
  • Right: Charges electricity, making itself fall over, then stands up and winks while scratching its head.

Pikachu

  • Left: Backflips and spins (its "character chosen" animation in Super Smash Bros.).
  • Up: Ears perk, scratches its right ear.
  • Right: Sleeps.

Piranha Plant

  • Left: Bites the air around it three times, before smiling.
  • Up: Mario runs towards Piranha Plant's pot and jumps over it, only for Piranha Plant to pop out and bite Mario, sending him flying, before smiling, a reference to its reveal trailer.
  • Right: Hangs down from the ceiling and poses.

Pit

  • Left: After landing, he does two alternating inward slashes with his detached blades and says "It's game over for you!" ("撃破ー!", Struck down-!). The finishing pose he does is similar to his Ultimate official artwork, albeit with the blade in his left hand held in a proper grip.
  • Up: Pit jumps up with his fist raised. After landing, he briefly faces away from the screen, and turns back around. He then strikes the V sign and says "Victory!" ("ピース!", Peace!). Based on the ending of Kid Icarus: Uprising.
  • Right: Spins his bow in his right hand, then stops with the bow held out in front of him (similar to his Brawl pose) and says "That was easy!" or "What's up now?!" ("楽勝楽勝", Easy peasy! or "任務完了!", Mission complete!).

Pokémon Trainer

The male Pokémon Trainer can say "You all did great!" ("よくやったな, みんな!", Good job, everyone!), while the female Trainer can say "Everyone did great!" ("みなさんは素晴らしい!", All of you did great!). They will either say their non-specific line, or a Pokémon-specific line. In Team Battles, if there is more than two players on the winning team, the Pokémon will not be present, but this does not affect the Trainer's lines. The male and female Trainers also have variations in their own pose depending on the gender of the Trainer, similarly to the Inklings.

  • Left: The Trainer throws a Poké Ball up as the female Trainer performs a twirl, catches it, and holds it out in front of them.
  • Up: The Pokémon does one of its moves, and the Trainer cheers it on before raising an arm in the air.
  • Right: The Trainer pets the Pokémon.

Squirtle

During Squirtle's victory poses, the Pokémon Trainer might say "Good job, Squirtle!" ("よくやったな、ゼニガメ!"), while the female Trainer can say "We did it, Squirtle!" ("やったね、ゼニガメ!").

  • Left: Jumps and spins around on its shell in a breakdance move, and then lands and poses.
  • Up: Spits water quickly in three directions, does a backflip, then poses with its arm in the air.
  • Right: Pokémon Trainer holds Squirtle in his arms, then kneels down and puts it on the ground, and rubs its chin and head.

Ivysaur

During Ivysaur's victory poses, both Trainers can say "Way to go, Ivysaur!" In Japanese, the male Trainer says "がんばったな、フシギソウ!", while the female Trainer says "がんばったね、フシギソウ!", both of which translate to "You did great, Ivysaur!"

  • Left: Runs forward, does a backflip, then strikes a pose.
  • Up: Whips two vines forward, then poses with its vines extended.
  • Right: Pokémon Trainer pets Ivysaur, and it jumps on him, but Pokémon Trainer puts it back down and continues to pet it.

Charizard

During Charizard's victory poses, the Pokémon Trainer might say "You did it, Charizard!" ("リザードン, みなさんは素晴らしい!", Charizard, you're the best!), while the female Trainer can say "You're amazing, Charizard!" ("すごいね、リザードン!", Amazing, Charizard!).

  • Left: Stomps and rears its head back to roar upward, then strikes a pose.
  • Up: Uses Flare Blitz downwards to descend from the sky and crash into the ground, bounces out of it and lands on its feet, then strikes a pose.
  • Right: Pokémon Trainer pets its head and neck.

Pyra/Mythra

Pyra

  • Left: Tosses the Aegis Sword in the air while twirling and catches it while posing, saying "We did our best!" (頑張りました). Rex will jump in next to her and hold his fist up, saying "Nice one, Pyra!" (やったね、ホムラ!). In team battles, Rex does not appear if the team has three or more characters.
  • Up: Holds the Aegis Sword in front of her, then she and Rex hold it together and point it up in the air while letting out a battle cry. The final pose is similar to when they hold up the Aegis Sword during Burning Sword.
  • Right: Pyra briefly morphs into Mythra, who does a pose and spins around while morphing back into Pyra, who does a finishing pose by extending the Aegis Sword out. They both say "This is the power of the Aegis!" (これが、私達の力です!, This is our power!) in unison, alternating their voices as they swap form. Her pose comes from her official artwork and her figurine with Mythra.

Mythra

  • Left: Holds the Aegis Sword to her side before doing two slashes and says "Called it." (当然の結果ね, This is a natural outcome.) Rex will jump in next to her and hold his fist up, saying "You show 'em, Mythra!" (やったね、ヒカリ!) The two slashes that Mythra performs look similar to her auto-attack animation in Torna ~ The Golden Country. In team battles, Rex does not appear if the team has three or more characters.
  • Up: Warps around the stage while slashing, similar to Photon Edge, and says "Peak form." (最高潮!) Rex lands from above and holds his fist up.
  • Right: Mythra briefly morphs into Pyra, who does a pose and spins around while morphing back into Mythra, who does a finishing pose by extending the Aegis Sword out. Her pose comes from her official artwork and her figurine with Pyra. They both say "This is the power of the Aegis!" (これが、私達の力ね, This is our power!) in unison, alternating their voices as they swap form.

Richter

  • Left: Whilst spinning, Richter swings the Vampire Killer around himself while saying "You don't belong in this world!" ("ここはお前の住む世界ではない!", This world is not yours to live in!) before striking the ground with an overhead swing and pulling the chain taut. This line is taken from the beginning of Castlevania: Symphony of the Night.
  • Up: Jumps and whips the ground. Just before he lands, he spins in a brief clockwise manner. Upon landing, he assumes a pose identical to his official render.
  • Right: While facing away from the camera, he pulls back and rolls up the Vampire Killer, putting it on his side. He then, with his back still facing the camera, turns around, similarly to his idle stance in Symphony of the Night, and makes a parting gesture saying "Farewell!"("じゃあな", See you.). This is from the cutscene where he rescues Tera in Rondo of Blood.

Ridley

  • Left: Flies into the scene, lands, and drifts to a stop.
  • Up: Somersaults and screeches, then lands with a slash.
  • Right: Claws at the ground repeatedly and bites once afterwards. He then turns toward the camera and grins. The way the camera is angled makes it appear as if Ridley is supposedly ravaging a downed opponent, but in Team Battles, nothing can be seen.

R.O.B.

  • Left: While advancing forward, R.O.B. rotates his "hands" outward while his arms point out straight. After halting, he spins his arms in alternating directions and rotates his head 360° counterclockwise. Afterwards, he adjusts his arms to face upward, continuously raising and lowering them in a flexing gesture. R.O.B.'s head also rotates 360° clockwise after every 2 times he pumps his arms.
  • Up: Hovers in the air, spins, and lands. He then proceeds to continuously lower and raise his arms while rotating his head.
  • Right: Turns his head and flashes the lights in his eyes while clapping. He then proceeds to continuously clap, lowering his arms after each clap.

Robin

  • Left: Generates flames with a wave of their hands, then spreads out the free arm. Male Robin says "The key to victory lies within." ("勝利の秘策はここにある, The secret to victory is here.). Female Robin says "Ha! Checkmate." ("私の策にはまりましたね!, According to plan!).
    • If Lucina is present after a match, male Robin sometimes says "Lucina, I hope I didn't hurt you." ("ルキナ、痛くなかったかい?, Lucina, are you hurt?). This is rather glitchy, as it can play even if Lucina does not participate in a match.
  • Up: Crosses arms with weapons in hand, then spins clockwise and swings the Levin Sword. Male Robin says "I'm always three steps ahead." ("常に三手先を考えるんだ.", I always think three steps ahead.). Female Robin says "A good tactician has nothing to fear." ("戦略を練れば、恐るるに足りません., If you have a strategy, there is nothing to fear.).
  • Right: Faces the screen while back to back with Chrom, before turning around posing with their weapons. Male Robin says "It seems our fates are joined." ("僕たちは互いに絆で結ばれているんだ., We are bonded by mutual ties.). Female Robin says "I've got your back." ("私が、あなたの半身になります., I'll be your other half.).
    • If Lucina is present after a match, female Robin sometimes says "How can you protect Chrom if you can't protect yourself?" ("そんなことじゃ、クロムさんを守れませんよ!, You can't protect Chrom like that!).
    • If Robin's Final Smash has been used during the match, Chrom will sometimes say "My strength is yours!" (お前は俺が守る!, I'll protect you!), the same quote Chrom shouts when a unit pairs up with him in Awakening.

Rosalina & Luma

  • Left: Luma flies in after Rosalina motions with her wand, giggling, while Luma circles her.
  • Up: Rosalina poses and says "All right!", while Luma jumps and spins behind her.
  • Right: Luma jumps into Rosalina's arms, and she catches it.

Roy

  • Left: Swipes his sword once over his shoulder, then swipes it down and behind him while facing left, saying "Now the true battle begins!" ("真の戦いは、これからだ", The true fight is after this.). Afterwards, the camera zooms in on his face, focusing on his eyes.
  • Up: Spins the Binding Blade one and a half times and then sheaths it, saying "That was a fierce battle." ("苦しい戦いだった", It was a difficult fight.). In this victory screen, Roy assumes a similar pose to his Smash 4 render and amiibo, but with more liveliness to it.
  • Right: Flourishes his sword and poses with it by his side, saying "Failure is not an option!" before the camera dramatically zooms in on Roy's face ("守るべきもののために、負けられない!", For those whom I must protect, I will not lose!).

Ryu

  • Left: Crosses his arms, then winds back and does a pose with his right fist facing the camera; his victory pose from Street Fighter IV, saying "Give it your all!" ("必殺のタイミングを計れ!", Gauge the timing of your special moves!).
  • Up: Slings his bag over his shoulder while saying "The journey has just begun." ("旅はまだ…始まったばかりだ", Yet the journey... has just begun.).
  • Right: Punches once before doing a victorious uppercut, referencing one of his more recurring win poses, while saying "Your range is one fist short." ("その間合いじゃ、拳半分届かない!", That range doesn't reach half a fist!).

Samus

  • Left: Lands on the ground and readies her arm cannon.
  • Up: Fires multiple shots from her Arm Cannon while kneeling, then strikes a pose. The pose is based on her appearance on the cover of Metroid II: Return of Samus.
  • Right: Fires a Super Missile and strikes a pose similar to her official artwork.

Sephiroth

Note: All of Sephiroth's victory screens take place in a fiery area instead of the standard area where most of the victory screens take place, a direct reference to the Nibelheim Incident from Final Fantasy VII. If Sephiroth is the leader of a winning team, he will use his special victory screens without any of his teammates being seen. If Cloud is present during the match, he has a chance of saying "思い出にはならないさ" ("I will never be a memory.") in any of his victory poses.

  • Left: With his back turned, Sephiroth turns his head towards the camera while chuckling, and slowly walks deeper into the fire until he disappears. Based on the second half of the Nibelheim FMV.
  • Up: Slowly raises his head and glares at the camera, saying "何度でも導いてやろう。" ("I will usher you as many times as you want."). Based on the first half of the Nibelheim Incident FMV.
  • Right: While turning his back to the camera, he swings the Masamune and sprouts his black wing, saying "その痛みで私を思い出せ。" ("Remember me through your pain.").

In team battles where Sephiroth is not the leader, he faces to the side while doing the up victory pose, keeping his face away from the camera. This resembles his victory animation in Dissidia Final Fantasy Opera Omnia.

Sheik

  • Left: Kicks once, spins on the ground, then poses with her arms blocking her face.
  • Up: Crouches, swipes with her hand twice, then stands up while rearing back her right hand up to her face.

Shulk

  • Left: Raises the Monado, activates it, and swings it in an outward, downward arc. He then deactivates it and places it on his back, saying either "I got through that pretty good!" (よかった、これで解決ですね。, All good, it's been quite resolved.) or "This is a good result!" (結構よい仕上がりだね?, It was a splendid completion, huh?).
  • Up: Swings the Monado twice while it is active (the first swing is inward with both hands, and the second is an outward swing with his right arm). Then he holds it level to his head (horizontally lengthwise) as it deactivates, saying either "The future is ours to decide." (みんなの気持ちが伝わってきたよ!, Everyone's feelings have been coming through!) or "I've got a good rhythm going!" (ほんと、いい流れがつくれているよ!, For real, this makes it a good flow!).
  • Right: Bows down with the Monado held lengthwise, with the Monado activating before Shulk holds it in a reverse grip, saying either "I can feel the power!" (うん、力を感じる。, Hmm, I feel the power.) or "I can change the future." (未来は…変えられるんだ!, The future… I can change it!).

Simon

  • Left: Shouts "I vanquish the darkness!" ("闇を打つ!", Strike the darkness!) as he whips the ground around him twice, before holding the Vampire Killer taut. This is a possible reference to Castlevania II: Simon's Quest during the end of nighttime, when the game will show a prompt stating "The morning sun has vanquished the horrible night.".
    • Against villains (Ganondorf, Dark Samus, Ridley) or non-villainous characters associated with darkness (Dark Pit, Bayonetta), Simon will simply say, "To darkness!" ("闇に変わる!", Turn to darkness!).
  • Up: Holds the coiled Vampire Killer in the air before lashing it out against the ground while spinning once. The ending pose appears similar to promotional art for Castlevania Chronicles.
  • Right: Jumps up to grab a Magic Crystal then whips forward. Simon will then continuously whip and jump as the camera cuts to a side view, referencing a phenomenon when the A and B buttons are held after collecting an orb in the original Castlevania.

Snake

  • Left: Does a spin kick, a side kick, and then finishes in a CQC stance, all while saying "Not even close!" ("まだまだだな。", Not yet.). The pose is a reference to the end of Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots when Old Snake fights Liquid Ocelot.
  • Up: Seen in a crouching position from the side, saying "Colonel, mission accomplished." into his codec. ("大佐、任務完了だ。", Colonel, mission accomplished.).
  • Right: Crawls forward a step and rolls into a crouching position, saying into his codec "This is Snake. I'm done here." ("こちらスネーク、これより帰還する。", This is Snake, returning from here.).

Sonic

  • Left: Sprints off-screen and then sprints back on-screen before giving a thumbs up and saying "That was almost too easy!" ("モタモタしてると置いてくぜ!", Leaving behind to be dawdling!). It highly resembles the SEGA logo animation from Sonic the Hedgehog 2.
  • Up: Runs up and collects the blue Chaos Emerald and then poses with it before saying "Piece of cake!" ("A piece of cake! 楽勝だぜ!", A piece of cake! An easy win!). The Japanese line is a quote taken from when Team Sonic completes Mystic Mansion in Sonic Heroes.
  • Right: Performs the pike, a breakdancing move, and then strikes a pose while saying "Let's do that again sometime!" ("Hey guys! また遊んでやるぜ!", Hey guys! I'll play again next time!) The Japanese line is a reference to his victory quote after defeating a boss in Sonic Adventure.

Steve

  • Left: A Creeper is shown onscreen, which promptly explodes as Steve humorously lands directly in front of the camera without an animation.
  • Up: Eats a Steak while the camera angle changes, and then burps. It is similar to his side taunt.
  • Right: Quickly builds a house similar to ones found in villages and stands outside of it, then closes the door.

Steve's Up victory pose was changed in update 9.0.1; previously, Steve held the Steak even after he finished eating it.

Terry

  • Left: Terry turns around and throws his hat to the side while shouting "Okay!". Based on his signature victory pose in virtually every appearance he makes, more specifically his victory pose for Fatal Fury 2.
  • Up: Terry briefly wipes his nose before taking his hat, turning it to the side a bit and tossing it off saying “Okay!”. Based on his victory pose from The King of Fighters '94 and '95.
  • Right: Terry brushes his hat against his right leg a couple times before putting it back on his head and looking away with his eyes covered. Based on his Round 1 victory pose from Real Bout Fatal Fury, and several other games thereafter.

Toon Link

  • Left: Waves the Wind Waker, ending in a pose similar to his official artwork from The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker.
  • Up: Chases a pig. Upon catching the pig, he holds it above his head. Whilst balancing on one foot, he occasionally starts to lose balance before retaining it again.
  • Right: Tries to catch a pig, but ends up tripping and falling on his bottom. He then proceeds to rub his bottom for the rest of the victory pose while sheepishly smiling.

  • Left: Catches a horned dynastid with their net and shows it off.
  • Up: Digs up a fossil and shows it off.

  • Right: Laughs gloatingly and then falls over, rolling on his back.

Both the female and male Wii Fit Trainers have a selection of sayings picked at random depending on which victory pose is used:

Wolf

In any victory pose, there's a chance Wolf will say "Playtime's over, Star Fox!" ("遊びは終わりだ、スターフォックス!", Playtime is over, Star Fox!) if Fox was present during the match.

  • Left: Raises his right hand towards his face. He then moves his arms in alternating circular motions before bringing his left arm towards his right side. He then concludes by swinging out his left arm while raising his right, assuming a martial arts stance. This may be in reference to his idle stance in Brawl.
  • Up: Performs two alternating slashes and an inverted roundhouse kick, saying "You're good, but I'm better." (貴様を倒すのはこの俺様だ!, You will be defeated by the very me!). After the kick, Wolf assumes a low-postured stance in which he raises his right arm behind himself while he holds out his left while smirking.
  • Right: While facing away from the camera, Wolf raises his right arm. He then turns quickly toward the camera, gesturing towards the screen with his claws. During the entirety of the pose, he says "Heh, weaklings, the lot of you." (ふんっ、弱者どもめ。, Hmph, such weak ones.)

Yoshi

  • Left: Does a flutter jump, spins once, and gives the V sign. Based on an animation from "Yoshi's Story" when a stage is completed.
  • Up: Punches the air twice, spins, and poses while standing on one foot. (Based on his "character chosen" animation from Smash 64 but has been drastically altered.)
  • Right: Angrily, he punches a few times, and then turns his back on the screen facing right.
