  • The R.O.B. puppet fighter's favored Gyro references the primary gameplay mechanic of Gyromite.
  • The stage references R.O.B. being a real-life video game peripheral. The stage also references how fighters are decreased in size relative to their surroundings, so in this environment, the Giant R.O.B. puppet fighters reflects the peripheral's real-life size.

Trivia

  • R.O.B., EarthBound, and Pikmin are the only series represented by a fighter to use photographs for their spirits.
  • The R.O.B. series is tied with the Duck Hunt series with the least amount spirits of first-party series represented by a fighter with a total of 3.
    • It, along with Ice Climber is the only series that don't have a primary spirit associated with them. Final Fantasy also applied prior to DLC.
    • It is also the universe with the smallest number of spirit battles assigned, only one. Prior to version 10.1.0, Final Fantasy held the mark, having had no spirit battles.
  • The R.O.B. and Wii Fit universes are the only universes whose spirit battles never contain fighters outside their series.
  • Even in the Japanese version, R.O.B's Fighter Spirit still uses the Robotic Operating Buddy rather than the Family Computer Robot.
