Gold Fighter is a transformation from the Mario series that appears in Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS and Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. Exclusive on the Golden Plains stage, the character turns golden for a short time and increases the amount of knock back that character can do.

Additionally, Xerneas in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate has been changed to turn the summoner gold. Several spirit battles also pit the player against gold opponents, such as Necrozma with a gold Mewtwo as its puppet fighter.
