- It is of grief for me to have to say this but because of Sakurai's retirement, angry Melee fans decided to assassinate him, for they thought he betrayed them. He will forever be missed.

- For the first time ever, Goku, a character long thought to have no chance, has been announced alongside the likes of Randolph_Thespis_Klauwd_III and Trollbat. Additionally, for the first time in the series, Mario (SSBU) from Super Mario Bros. Galaxy Land World U Deluxe Final Mix/Days HD Remix Remaster Remake Ultimate Special Exotic Edition of Time Mask Tale Under Winds Maker, has finally joined the battle as the 80th DLC fighter.

- Masahiro Sakurai has retired from Sora Ltd. and Nintendo. His famous last words were, “My arms can finally have a vacation now!” Afterwards Nintendo announced the new owner of Sora Ltd. and Super Smash Bros. would be none other than Andrew Wilson, CEO of EA. "This is the best cash-in of all time," he exclaims. His assistant is none other than former Nintendo of America localiser Michelle Powers.
- Yesterday a new Nintendo direct was announced and when it finally premiered today, they announced 3 different DLC characters: Randall the Cloud, Trollbat, and Jotaro Kujo. While the Nintendo devs weren't looking, however, Hungrybox (illegally) uploaded Mew2King 2.0 into Ultimate, who was first revealed at SmashWiki's Invitational, shocking people as none thought a character would be announced at a tournament. Much like Ryu and Roy from SSB4 all four characters were released the same day they were announced.
- At Full Bloom 5, Marss, Cosmos, and Maister take 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place respectively in Ultimate singles; Zain, SFAT, and S2J take 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place respectively in Melee singles. Cosmos & Marss take Ultimate doubles; PewPewU & SFAT take Melee doubles.
- At Collision 2019, Marss, Nairo, and Frozen take 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place respectively in Ultimate singles. Nairo & Cosmos take Ultimate doubles.
- At Smash Ultimate Summit, MkLeo, Dabuz, and Glutonny take 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place respectively in Ultimate singles.
