PMRank 2016

The PMRank 2016 ranks the top 50 Project M players in the world. It was announced in a series of Smashboards articles, published from February 27th, 2017 to March 8th, 2017.

Methodology

A selection of top players, commentators, and tournament organisers comprised a panel for this edition of the PMRank. Panelists were asked to grade players based on the following criterion:
"Given all of the results of 2016 in Project M, if everyone on this list entered 50 tournaments, who on average would place the best?"
Panelists were tasked with ranking each player from 1-10, with the best players receiving a "10", and the worst players receiving a "1". Following which, the highest and lowest ratings were removed in order to reduce the variance.

While over 85 players qualified for the rankings based on their placements and attendance at major Project M events throughout 2016, only 50 players were chosen in the final ranking.
