An up aerial (abbreviated "uair"/"u-air"/"UAir" or "AUA") is an aerial attack that is performed by pressing the A button and up on the control stick. An up aerial can also be performed by pressing the C-stick upwards while airborne. Some find using the C-stick more advantageous because it frees up the control stick, which can then be used for directional influence.
Notable up aerials include:
- Fox's up aerial, a flip kick with immense upward knockback and high speed.
- Falco's up aerial, another flip kick ,if hit with the upper part it will attack with an upward knockback but way weaker than Fox's. If hit with the medium part it will result in almost no knockback but a very vital usage for combos.
- Link's and Young Link's up aerial can result in a very huge knock back at considerable speed with excellent priority and range.
- Marth's up aerial has a huge range, and is primarily used for comboing.
- Bowser's up aerial possesses extreme power, and can be used to combo fast fallers at low percents.
