Ness (ネス, Ness) is a playable character in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. He was confirmed on June 12th, 2018.

Changes from Super Smash Bros. 4

• Ness now grabs and holds his opponents and pummels them with PSI, akin to Zelda's grab.
• PK Fire now has the on-screen PSI Fire graphics from EarthBound when released and upon hit. He also has a different pose when firing it.
• PK Thunder now has an angle indicator when the ball of lighting comes close enough to Ness.
• PK Starstorm is now similar to its Brawl iteration, firing meteors in a fan shape but significantly slower. Ness is also assisted by Paula and Poo.
• PSI Magnet now has the on-screen effect from EarthBound as well as a visible suction around the outside of the magnet.
• Up Air now has a new animation where he wave his hands in the air similar to Peach's up air. It deals good knockback.
• Neutral Air now has PSI emitting from his hands similar to Zelda.
