Skuttlers (ボックン, Bokkun) are common ground enemies in Kid Icarus: Uprising that make up the primary ground forces of the Underworld Army.
Origin[edit]
Skuttlers are a series of ground enemies introduced in Uprising. Each variant shares common characteristics in appearance: purple tentacles, a white skull body with crossbones, and a singular eye. Skuttlers are separated into four various classes: the basic Skuttler, which wields a bone club and a shield; the cannoneer, which wields a cannon that can be used to fire lasers or homing missiles; the mage, which carries a wand that they can use to cast a jet of flame close-up or a weakening curse; or the Suit of Skuttler, which wears a heavy suit of armor that renders any attacks harmless unless directed at its exposed backside.
In Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS[edit]
In Smash Run[edit]
Skuttlers appear as common enemies, and can appear in three different variants:
- The standard Skuttler simply attacks the player character with a club. It can attack three different ways; a standard attack which consists of two quick consecutive strikes, a strong attack that deals heavy knockback, and a jump attack to catch higher fighters. If left alone enough, it will fly away.
- The Skuttler Cannoneer shoots a projectile at the player character. The projectile's behavior depends on the cannon's color: a green cannon shoots cannonballs, a blue one shoots energy projectiles and a red one shoots a single, slow homing missile.
- The Skuttler Mage takes aim at the player character with a crosshair and, if not interrupted, casts a stat-reducing spell that can't be shielded or countered. They can also strike the player character directly with their club, which also causes stat reductions.
Trophies[edit]
- Skuttler
- Skuttlers make no bones about coming up to you and swinging their clubs right at your face. The bigger the swing, the more it'll hurt. They act tough, and they do have a lot of health, but any strong attack from you will send them tumbling. Their shields are just for show, too. Our advice: throw them or whack them in the back.

- Skuttler Cannoneer
- These foot soldiers come in three varieties, which you can tell apart by looking at the color of the cannons they're carrying. The green ones cause explosions, the blue ones' shots go through obstacles, and the red ones fire homing missiles. Occasionally, their cannons will stop working, giving you an opening to attack!
