== "Official" Japanese moveset names taken from most wiki sources: ==
Note 1: Will include both Japanese and English terminology.
Note 2: The names may or may not match the moveset names from the official guides as recorded from sources like IGN's ''Melee'' FAQ.
Note 3: Move names may be either different or unconfirmed depending on the game, but special moves and Final Smashes/Last Trump Cards are not included since they already have their own pages on this wiki.

Luigi counters fast-fallers? I don't think so... But I don't want this to become a place to argue about match-ups. I think it's better to not mention match-ups in character articles unless it's significant/noteworthy. --Greenblob 01:31, March 14, 2007 (GMT)

Phanna's All Characters Match-Up Chart gives Luigi 4 against Fox and Falco, 2 against Sheik and 3 against Marth. Luigi's best even matches are against the Ice Climbers and Jigglypuff. And Luigi doesn't have any advantageous matches at all, except against the bottom four characters in the game. So according to phanna / some Smashboarders at least, Luigi doesn't counter anybody at all, least of all the space animals. He can survive against them - 4 is a pretty weak disadvantage - but I think it's better to stay away from making hard decisions on controversial matches in the first place. It's clear that Sheik and Marth have strong advantages against Luigi - let's leave it at that. MaskedMarth (t c) 16:29, March 14, 2007 (GMT)

No Pros & Cons?[edit]

I think that someone should work on giving Luigi all of his pros and cons. Because he's the only Melee character that doesn't have any. What I mean is that he needs to have a section of pros and cons that are listed like the other Melee characters.

It was actually deleted. What you should do is remove them from all the other articles because most are purely subjective and largely unencylcopedic to begin with. The characters are supposed to be balanced--they're not, and we know this, but too many of those lists cite things that are related to the competitive game, when they should apply to anyone who takes an interest. --RJM Talk 12:26, January 28, 2008 (EST)
Yeah, I was actually going to bring up the issue of the "Pros & Cons" sections (as well as other sections that seem to be tailored more towards the professional players). I'll go ahead and remove the pros & cons from the other articles. – EP (TalkEdits) 12:32, January 28, 2008 (EST)

About Luigi's voice[edit]

Did'nt Luigi have his own official voice in Mario Party 1, which came out in 1998 and SSB64 came out in 1999?font color="black">Boo Buddy</font>]] (talk) 15:06, 1 July 2013 (EDT)

I'm pretty sure he got an official voice in Luigi's Mansion, but they kept the sped up Mario samples in Melee for some reason. Scr7Wolfsig.png 15:54, 1 July 2013 (EDT)

Trivia facts?[edit]

Is it worth mentioning that Luigi is the only "?" character that isn't a Pokemon? Or that he's the only ? to move to another spot when unlocked? Unowninator (talk) 19:50, 10 December 2015 (EST)

The former isn't true, and the second one's kind of boring. ---Preceding unsigned comment added by SANTY CLAWS! Or maybe DatNuttyKid. 19:54, 10 December 2015 (EST)
