Overview
Toon Link swings the Master Sword in front of him. It deals 13% damage, has strong horizontal knockback and is a great KOing option. However, it is slightly delayed. It's startup is slightly less than characters such as Mario or Donkey Kong's forward aerial, and slightly less than foward aerials like Bowser's. It can follow up from a Bomb, giving it a reliable way to KO opponents. Moves can also follow up from it such as Spin Attack or a grab aerial.
Toon Link spins and swings the Master Sword in an upwards arc in front of him. It deals 13% damage with strong horizontal knockback and great range thanks to its big hitbox. However, it has noticeable startup lag, making it difficult to connect with. This can be remedied by using a Bomb to set it up, making it a reliable KO option. Early on, this in turn can be followed up with other moves, such as Spin Attack or a grab aerial.

Hitbox visualization showing Toon Link's forward aerial.

Overview[edit]

Toon Link spins and swings the Master Sword in an upwards arc in front of him. It deals 13% damage with strong horizontal knockback and great range thanks to its big hitbox. However, it has noticeable startup lag, making it difficult to connect with. This can be remedied by using a Bomb to set it up, making it a reliable KO option. Early on, this in turn can be followed up with other moves, such as Spin Attack or a grab aerial.
