As shown here, icon data for Rhythm Heaven was found along with the rest of the character icons in the Wii U version's code. While this doesn't necessarily confirm that it was Chorus Kids, it does show that a Rhythm Heaven character was planned at one point. I feel like this should be mentioned in the article, as it may shed some further insight on the leak itself.
Hey guys, your Data Dumps information is incorrect. I'm unsure about your rules concerning edits, and since this edit has to deal with stuff that concerns me, I'll let someone else edit it. First, please use my blog as the actual source, or at least my original post on SmashBoards, (https://sourcegaming.wordpress.com/2015/01/26/smash-4-wii-u-data-discoveries/). Furthermore, there was no character data found. It is heavily suggested that they would have been characters, based on the groupings of the emblem database (file name: i_mark_db).I've quoted the relevant part of i_mark_db below.

Something I noticed in Ultimate is that the Chorus Men's spirit is named Chorus Kids, the same name used by the Gematsu leaks. Now, if I'm remembering correctly (which I might not be, hence why I'm asking here), the name Chorus Kids is not used for them in any official material. Chorus Men is the Japanese name of their minigame, Glee Club. The characters weren't widely talked about prior to this "leak" occurring, so they didn't have a colloquial name until this guy introduced Chorus Kids as part of his leak.
If I am remembering this etymology correctly, might it be worth noting that Smash Bros. uses the name popularized by this leak? While it might be Treehouse using the colloquial name for characters without an official title, it could also be an indication that the Chorus Kids really were the Rhythm Heaven character and that the Smash 4 development team created the name. Delete this page?[edit]

Honestly, this topic has died down in the Smash community, from what I've noticed. If some feel like it shouldn't be deleted because of the infamousness of it, then that's fine, but I personally haven't seen anyone mention this leak ever since Robin/Lucina's trailer. I figured I'd at least bring it up on the talk page before actually doing it, as to not cause unnecessary arguments. Aidan the Intermediate Gamer (talk) 23:04, 21 August 2014 (EDT)

Keep. A lot of major rumors have died down, but not many have become as famous as this during their peak. So. Qwerty (talk) 01:30, 22 August 2014 (EDT)
Keep, it was still hot for about a week after the Book, Blade, Flame trailer, and it was WIDELY discussed for a whole year! That's pretty impressive. Laikue (talk) 01:52, 22 August 2014 (EDT)

Gematsu leak ultimately proven to be wrong[edit]

As the game is played, many information brought by said Gematsu leak were proven to be wrong. Shouldn't we update the page now?--Wolfy76700 (talk) 13:16, 11 September 2014 (EDT)

That, or we delete the page as a whole. This hasn't been talked about since July. Aidan the Intermediate Gamer (talk) 13:50, 11 September 2014 (EDT)
And it was talked about for 13 months almost non-stop, it has historical value. Laikue (talk|contribs) 13:52, 11 September 2014 (EDT)
Historical value? Yes. I won't deny the famousness of this leak. Legitimacy as of now? No. That ship has sailed. Aidan the Intermediate Gamer (talk) 13:56, 11 September 2014 (EDT)
I'm not saying we delete all traces of this leak on the wiki. I just say we delete the page for it, and keep it on other pages that could use it. Aidan the Intermediate Gamer (talk) 13:58, 11 September 2014 (EDT)
Yeah, hindsights a bitch. In datamines of the game there was remnants of the characters Gematsu got "wrong". :Looks like he was right all along.

Seeing if anyone can fact-check me before I add it to the page[edit]

Something I noticed in Ultimate is that the Chorus Men's spirit is named Chorus Kids, the same name used by the Gematsu leaks.
