The Chakram is a very useful projectile, and arguably the best side special for Mii Swordfighter, as not only can it be angled, but it can be thrown two ways, depending on how the control stick is used: Using the move as a tilt will make it slowly move forwards a short distance and deal multiple hits before disappearing. This lingering hitbox can lead to combos with other moves, can ledge trap by covering certain options, and can help edgeguard by creating a small area that will snuff out an opponent's jump or up special.
If used as a smash attack, the Chakram will fly relatively fast, hitting any opponent once while passing right through them, and disappear after a good distance. This version excels at keeping opponents away and racking up damage, as it will knock opponents away and interrupt their approach attempts unless they stop to shield. Because of its knockback angle and ability to angle the projectile, it can also snipe opponents trying to recover, and knock them towards the blast zone. A tilted Chakram behaves normally against shields. The Chakram's overall function is reminiscent of [[Ivysaur]]'s [[Razor Leaf]], except with the ability to control its angle and speed, rather than it being random. While it has many perks, misaiming a Chakram downwards (usually by trying to throw it behind the Swordfighter) is significantly punishable since it will harmlessly lodge into the ground, though it can be used as a niche fake-out.

Chakram (チャクラム, Chakram) is the last of the three side special moves used by the Mii Swordfighter.
Overview[edit]
The Mii throws a chakram, a small, bladed circle, in the direction it is facing similar to Link's Boomerang and the boomerang item. In a Miiverse post, Sakurai revealed that the chakram can be stalled in the air for an unspecified amount of time, and the direction the weapon is thrown can be altered as well. In the Nintendo Digital Event of E3 2014, it was shown that a chakram will stick in the ground for a while after being repelled, whether it be via a shield or otherwise. It is unable to be interacted with if this occurs.
The Chakram's overall function is reminiscent of Ivysaur's Razor Leaf, except with the ability to control its angle and speed, rather than it being random. While it has many perks, misaiming a Chakram downwards (usually by trying to throw it behind the Swordfighter) is significantly punishable since it will harmlessly lodge into the ground, though it can be used as a niche fake-out.
In Ultimate, the Chakram has been significantly buffed, as it now has a larger hitbox and deals more damage when smash-thrown. When thrown as a tilt, it also has the ability to travel back towards the Swordfighter like a boomerang, allowing it to dish out even more hits than before.
