Eggrobos are robotic soldiers working for Dr. Ivo "Eggman" Robotnik, each of whom were built in his likeness. Eggrobos would attack Sonic and co. with a potent blaster. Eggrobos first appeared in ''Sonic 3 & Knuckles'', acting as enemies. While Knuckles would face one that piloted an Egg Mobile (this Eggrobo emulated its creator's battle tactics and machines that he used in Sonic's version of those boss battles), all three playable character (Sonic, Tails and Knuckles) would face hordes of Eggrobos when they went to Sky Sanctuary Zone in their efforts to not only save Angel Island and the Master Emerald, but destroy the Death Egg as well. The Eggrobos acted as the sole enemies of the level, a role they would later reprise in the ''Sonic Generations'' version of Sky Sanctuary Zone.

An Eggrobo from Sonic Generations.

Universe Sonic the Hedgehog

Eggrobos or Egg Robos (エッグロボ, Eggrobo) are enemies from the Sonic the Hedgehog series.

Origin[edit]

A sprite of an Eggrobo from Sonic & Knuckles.

Eggrobos are android-like Badniks created by Doctor Eggman, in his own likeliness. They first appeared in Sonic & Knuckles, as the sole enemy in Sky Sanctuary Zone. After being sent out of the Death Egg, they will hover in place and attack the player character when in proximity, firing at them with their large laser pistol. In the same game, an Eggrobo piloting Eggman's boss machines is the antagonist in Knuckles' story, replacing the doctor and acting identically to him. Their design in Smash Run is directly based on their appearance in Sonic Generations, where they reprised their role as Sky Sanctuary's enemies. Other important appearances include an Eggrobo being an unlockable character in Sonic R, and a group of five modified Eggrobos, known as the Hard-Boiled Heavies, which serve as the secondary antagonists of Sonic Mania.

In Smash Run[edit]

Eggrobos appear as enemies. They hover in the air keeping their distance from the player, and are hard to hit directly. They attack by shooting energy projectiles: either an energy bullet which can be reflected and absorbed, or a thin and continuous beam.
