Forums: Index Brawl Talk Is mr. game and watch a good character

Peopele say he's the worst character in melee and yet he's supposed to be the grand finale character. Personaly I approve of him as the best character in brawl but's that's my opinion. I say these things about MGAW (Mr. Game and Watch) because some of his moves are very hard to dodge, but if you dodge it you have plenty of time to attack him because of his lag and recovery. I bet you all hate the move Judgment when he takes out his hammer holds out the sign and hits you. I mean you all had the experience of being hit with a nine judgment attack and just watching your self going flying to nowhere land. But gues what it works for your opponent. So a powerful but cheap technique in brawl is to abuuse judgment. Now the down side to judgment is that when MGAW lifts up that sign you have plenty of time to hit him back. After all judgement only works in close kombat and it lags so in away it's afair move. The technique I use is when you smash down with your key. Here are the facts.

.It goes pretty fast .If your smart and attentive you'll will be able to cancel the move before you hit the ground if your opponent flees .I your not smart and attentive you'll hit groud and have the trouble to get the key out of the ground. (not fun)and by that time you be hit with smash move.

These moves can only be pulled off because you have an up B move to get you into the air safely, and then you can use a down A move on the oppenent. Only MGAW and Sonic have the ability to use a an A move after an up B move. My final reason why to pick MGAW ishis bug spray move. The good thing about that move is that it can protect from all close combat moves and cause a lot damage to your oppenent. But don't be greedy with this attack because some times the attack cause sometimes if your oppenent is just far anough the attack can only give a little bit of damage leaving them charging up for an attack which would be able to go through the bug spray attack.

He is broken in Brawl. Anyway, you forgot that Pit, Snake, ROB, etc can use A moves after an Up B.E123Brawler Ω 03:15, 7 January 2009 (UTC)

Mr. Game & Watch (as it is properly spelled) is a great character in Brawl, mostly because of his disjointed attacks (manhole, anyone?). I wouldn't say he's the best, but 5th place is nothing to whine about. As a minor note, DO NOT spam Judgement! There's this little trick called grabbing out of a shield that will get you every time (one of my best friends and SSB rivals plays MG&W at a high level, you have to learn to counter these things). Also, the key (dair) is most useful if the opponent is in the air below you (to stop jugglers and get below them), but not so much if they're on the ground waiting to smash you once you get stuck. MG&W can be a pretty annoying opponent, and like most top-tiers, can be virtually invincible if you know how to play him well. (Spamming manhole FTW!)--Meta-K (talk) 12:37, 7 January 2009 (UTC)

Mr. Game & Watch is indeed a very good character. With the lack of some hit boxes, he can now be a menace. MG&W can now float with his Fup-B move, Fire. His up-aerial can propel enemies above him upwards. His down smash can now dish out the damage that all the players wanted. Many changes were formed due to the fact that there were many problems with his fighting style. But in Brawl, his low-bit movement and new tricks make him a menace to those who hate surprises. I'd definitely say that Game & Watch is good enough for Mid Tier, but I think High and Top is stretching it a little. He has improved a lot, I'll give him that, but he's still kind of easy to counter if he misses an attack. - GalaxiaD Talk 23:05, 7 January 2009 (UTC)
