An invitational is a tournament which features only a certain number of players who are invited, are voted in, or qualify through other events. For more information regarding invitationls, see Tournament#Locations and sizes.
An official invitaitional has been held before the release of both Super Smash Bros. 4 and Super Smash Bros. Ultimate in 2014 and 2018, respectively.
