Seibugeki 17 was a Super Smash Bros. Ultimate major held in Fuchu-shi, Tokyo, Kantō on July 15th, 2024.
Tournament summary[edit]
After winning his last five events, including two majors, this event marked a severe underperformance from Hurt, who first lost to #65 seed Teru 1-2 (upset factor 12) before being eliminated by #34 seed MairudonaH.O 1-2 (upset factor 10) for 49th, his worst major performance since Maesuma TOP 11. #4 seed KEN also severely underperformed, losing to #61 seed Chon 0-2 (upset factor 8) and #24 seed sssr 1-2 (upset factor 5) for 33rd. A slew of other upsets also took place, including #5 seed Yamanaction losing to #12 seed Fui 2-3 and #19 seed kept 1-3 (upset factor 3) to place 13th; #6 seed Akakikusu losing to #11 seed Gorioka 0-3 and MairudonaH.O 2-3 (upset factor 6) for 17th; and #16 seed Noi losing to #208 seed Gorison 1-2 (upset factor 8) and #47 seed Kamisuke 0-2 (upset factor 3) for 49th.
