Fandangox is correct. It's just a basic Pokemon Trainer using Red's remade design. His voice even is similar to Ash's anime voices, showing how much of a reference to both he is. That, and he specifically isn't Ash either(as Sakurai shot down some time ago). What makes this more odd is that he only lists FR/LG as the origin when Red appears in far more games. Then again, he has a bad habit of listing incorrect information. For instance, both Sheik and Zelda's Light Arrows apparently originate in Brawl? Only Sheik's did, but Zelda's was from Twilight Princess(well, actually Wind Waker, but the version they used of Zelda is from a different game). I'd take the trophy saying "where he's from" with a grain of salt right now and only pay attention the description. Which is blatant what he is of this time. —Preceding unsigned comment added by HyperFalcon (talk • contribs) 03:43, July 29, 2008 (EST)

I'm uncertain that the words he says changes depending on how many KO's his pokemon achieve. He has said Amazing job, despite the fact that there hasn't even been 6 KO's done total by everyone (although I am quite aware that the article says the KO's dealt by his pokemon, I say done by everyone as a total, to make a point). It seems to me more likely, that the words he says, is determined by 3 things. 1, how long a pokemon has been out. 2, how much damage that pokemon may have dealt. And 3, how much damage that pokemon has taken during its time out. Can we look into this again? Learner4 (talk) 15:58, September 26, 2010 (UTC)

I’d put this on the talk page of the actual table but I don’t know where to access it so I’m putting it here. The table of special moves on this page says Ivysaur’s up special in Ultimate is currently unconfirmed. I had to do some digging, but I found a video of him using Vine Whip seemingly just as it was in Brawl: https://youtu.be/KJeBylrZqUg it’s about 1:12 in. Not sure if this constitutes changing it but I assume that’s still the up special. Aykrivwassup (talk) 00:39, 23 June 2018 (EDT)

Unnecessary[edit]

I don't think it is nececessary to have the three attacks used in Triple Finish to be named, nor do I think that Triple Finish needs to be named three times, simply because it belongs to three different characters. They all do the same thing. Someone should fix that.--Oxico 17:47, December 14, 2007 (EST)

Then you have to go to a different page just to find out what the Final Smash is. That's also unnecessary. --Phred 15:21, December 15, 2007 (EST)
Seeing as how Sakurai himself names the three attacks used in the FS, I think it's very appropriate to list them on the Wiki. In response to your second point, why shouldn't the FS be listed on the fighter pages for each of PT's Pokemon? Triple Finish is the Final Smash for all four characters - just because they all perform it simultaneously doesn't mean anything. User:EPX2/sig 15:40, December 15, 2007 (EST)
No no no you misunderstand. In the bottom part of the....um....I do not know what it is called....but there is says each move performed in the Triple Finish and they are Red Hyperlinked, since they have to page. I was just saying that they shouldn't be down there. And in the same place I don't think it should be named three times there.--Oxico 16:01, December 15, 2007 (EST)
Nevermind. All the moves that were listed there are gone anyway. OK then, nevermind.--Oxico 16:03, December 15, 2007 (EST)

Oh, geez, this is gonna be complicated...[edit]

I recommend we make the Charizard article into a character article (Like Mario), then create a Charizard (SSB, SSBM) page which covers his role in SSB and SSBM as a Poké Ball Pokémon, then create a Charizard (SSBB) page which details his playable appearance in Brawl. Ivysaur and Squirtle can get the regular character treatment with no snags (make a character page, then a (SSBB) page). Agreed? WaluigiIsAwesome 03:37, August 13, 2007 (EDT)

Agreed on the Standard Character Article setup, but I think we only need Charizard as the standard article covering his SSB-SSBM Assist-style appearances in-depth (like all the other normal Pokemon pages like Articuno), and Charizard (SSBB) as the separate fighter page. I don't see the need for a Charizard (SSB, SSBM) page if the main Charizard page can cover that part just fine, because his previous role was as a standard Poke-Ball Pokemon which can be covered in-depth in a pretty short amount of space, and I think it won't be so complicated if we just do it like you propose Ivysaur and Squirtle. Erik the Appreciator 03:42, August 13, 2007 (EDT)
Okay, I can agree to that. WaluigiIsAwesome 05:14, August 13, 2007 (EDT)
About the images... Okay, so while the red arrows on the Pokemon Change diagram might be an interference, I think the pictures of the three Pokemon on that image would be great to crop out and upload individually into Charizard (SSBB), Ivysaur (SSBB), and Squirtle (SSBB). Or, if you prefer, crop the individual Pokemon out of the main Pokemon Trainer portrait on this article and upload those individually, but they'll have interference from the other Pokemon's bodies somewhat, though that might be better than the red arrows... Either way will work, just so long as the images are put into the pages. Erik the Appreciator 15:39, August 13, 2007 (EDT)
Sounds like a good plan. Someone should get to that done.--Oxico 17:37, December 14, 2007 (EST)

My Recoomendation[edit]

I think for the movest, we should have it seperated between the three, and have it like this:

Charizard
up B: unknown forward B: Rock Smash nuetral B: Flamethrower down B: Change to Squirtle.

Or something like that. Any thoughts=???

Also, when Brawl is released, we'll have seperate stat articles on them in either one or multiple articles. This is going to be very complicated and confusing, but for now we only need one article on them. Though a section on Charizard, Ivysaur, and Squirtle could be made, mentioning they are playable via the Pokémon Trainer, but not a playable character thing, like Fox, Link, Mario, or something like that.

All of the pokemon already have their movesets listed on their SSBB pages, so that'd be unnecessary. Also, the official name of the Down + B move is "Pokemon Change," so I think it's best to leave it as that. If you want to add a little note on each page, detailing which Pokemon is cycled to next when the move is performed (ex: on Charizard's SSBB page, his Down + B would read as follows: Down Special Move: Pokemon Change (cycles to Squirtle)), though, I'd have no problem with that.

In response to your article comment: seeing as how all three characters are going to have nearly-full movesets, I'd say each of them having a page is justified. After all, Sheik and ZSS get their own pages. - EPX2 14:51, October 7, 2007 (EDT)
Ummm, I heard from a reliable source that the Pokémon Trainer does indeed appear on a Delfino Plaza building. I think We should take the mentioning of it out of the article until we have further evidence, or we are told so by a reliable source, if we haven't been already (that is certain the Pokémon Trainer doesn't appear there). Alternate Costume[edit]

Since his name is pokemon trainer, shouldn't his costumes make him look like the other playable trainers (May/Dawn/Leaf/Lucas/Brendan/Kris/Gold) The trainers can be seen here 1

Take this discussion to the forums. Until it is confirmed or has some major hint, it should not and will not be mentioned on the wiki. That is speculaton, and is not meant for wiki(s). Johnknight1 16:27, November 3, 2007 (GMT)

Yeah, it's just Pokémon Trainer with Emerald Brendan's colours. Looks pretty good, though. I used to think Brendan was cool until I realized he didn't have white hair or a headband. That was a HAT. --Phred 01:22, December 24, 2007 (EST)

Tier[edit]

How do you think PT will be tiered? As a standalone character or Squirtle, Ivysaur and Charizard each getting their own place? M Shark 20:22, November 15, 2007 (EST)

Zelda and sheik are ranked separatly in the tier, may the three do too. --Fandangox 20:25, November 15, 2007 (EST)
I agree. Same with Samus and ZSS, methinks. NeonCrusader 20:29, November 15, 2007 (EST)
Yeah, but I was thinking, I remember reading on the Dojo that the PT will have a stamina stat, so if you use one Pokemon too much, "it's not so good for the Pokemon". I presume this mean it will become slow, less powerful etc. Could this possibly affect tournament play? M Shark 06:10, November 16, 2007 (EST)
It probably will, but knowing the Pro Smashers, they're going to find some way to mitigate that :p NeonCrusader 00:39, November 23, 2007 (EST)

I see Ash when I see him so I just call him Ash and he should fight when he has like a beam sword or a blaster or a super scope or fire flower or assist trophy. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 207.241.247.30 (talkcontribs) 17:10, 21 April 2008 (UTC)

Can we find a game for the PT origin? cause I don't really think is one specific maybe is the reprentation of all PT in general.--Fandangox 21:57, December 25, 2007 (EST)
