Nickel City Smash, or NCS, refers to tournaments run by tournament organizer and player Chirka. The tournament series is held in Sudbury, Ontario and began by hosting Melee and Project M before venturing out into other Smash games. While the frequency of events has slowed, tournaments for Ultimate, Melee and recently Guilty Gear: Strive are held bi-annually. In the past, Nickel City Smash ran Project M, and Project+ brackets at their events with a healthy turnout. Nickel City Smash is the largest regional tournament in Northern Ontario and typically features players from Sudbury's surrounding areas like North Bay, Timmins, Sault Ste. Marie, Orillia and Barrie. Throughout it's history, NCS has been hosted at various venues: 1-3 held at Chirka's apartment, 4-10 at Let's Scrabbalatte, 11-18 at the Radisson Hotel, and 19-present at the Clarion Hotel. Notable players that have won NCS events include RaynEX, Coffeeblack, Pyth, DoctorKayh, Thorn, and KGas.
