Dude, i already said it's an extremely generic pose for skidding animation that Sonic is doing, literally just go on Google and search "skidding pose" and you'll find the exact pose Sonic does in Smash, heck even Mario an identical pose to Sonic when he turns while running. --Improvisado (talk) 16:13, December 10, 2022 (GMT)

I know that its generic, but Sonic typically does that generic skidding pose when he is grinding and he does that pose in The Secret Rings. Through given the rushed nature of Sonic, it can be save to assume that the dev just copied it from another character or even ripped it straight from the Secret Rings. —Preceding unsigned comment added by GameDestroyer2008 (talk • contribs) 14:22, December 10, 2022 (EDT)

::Because it is a generic pose used by multiple fighters, and the fact that Secret Rings, or Heroes, have very little representing them in Smash in the first place, that's what make's it extremely unlikely that it's a reference of something from Sonic's own games in the place. Also, before you mention, Sonic's model in Brawl is 10 times more detailed than the one from Secret Rings, it is not simply a modified version of his model from that game, for all we know they could've not used Secret Rings at all as a reference to make Sonic's model, considering his design in both games is barely different from his design from any other Sonic game at that time. --Improvisado (talk) 16:51, December 10, 2022 (GMT)

About Sonic's model, yeah the textures of the Brawl model are far more detailed than the Secret Rings model and the torso looks like it has a higher poly count, but the facial structure, hands and especially the shoes look almost identical. As said given the rushed development, it could be that to speed things up and given that Secret Rings is a Wii game, they might have taken the Secret Rings model, gave it more detailed textures, and altered it to the point that it was almost a completely different model. But just like you said, its also possible that its a completely new model that just so happens to resemble the Secret Rings a lot. Reused assets for playable characters[edit]

We know that Smash Bros reuses a lot of assets from a lot of games and the playable characters are no exception, with several still reusing animations from 64 and Melee. But do any of the playable characters reuse assets from their own series/games? —Preceding unsigned comment added by GameDestroyer2008 (talkcontribs) 16:08, October 29, 2022 (EDT)

Update: I can't verify if this is true but according to comments on the Modelresource of Smash Brawl, Sonic's models is a modified version of the model from Sonic and the Secret Rings while Snake's model is the sneaking suit from Metal Gear Solid 2 with different textures combined with Big Boss' head model from Metal Gear Solid 3. —Preceding unsigned comment added by GameDestroyer2008 (talkcontribs) 07:48, November 4, 2022 (EDT)

Reminder[edit]

Not sure if it's the best idea to put a new topic on your own talk page. But at the very least sign your posts with 4 tildes (~). Grand Dad.png NPM Morr!? NaughtyPigBoi.jpg 01:22, October 30, 2022 (EDT)

A reminder of this. It appears you copy-pasted then modified your recent signature (time was off by 5 hours and dates don't have leading zeroes) instead of using a normal signature which is automatically created when you use 4 tildes (~~~~). --CanvasK (talk) 08:14, November 4, 2022 (EDT)

CanvasK, the time was off because thats what the time in Germany was. I live there. This also why the date had a leading zero. (~~~~). I did not copy-paste the 4 tildes by the way. —Preceding unsigned comment added by GameDestroyer2008 (talkcontribs) 08:40, November 4, 2022 (EDT)

You are literally supposed to sign by using that 4 tildes. Please sign properly. Grand Dad.png NPM Morr!? NaughtyPigBoi.jpg 08:58, November 4, 2022 (EDT)

Use show preview[edit]

Hello, I've noticed that you've made a lot of consecutive edits to the same page lately, especially in regards to the "X (universe)/Elements appearing in the Super Smash Bros. series" pages. Keep in mind that your edits are clogging the Recent Changes page, which makes it harder to keep track of all edits. To prevent this, I highly recommend doing all your edits in one spree and making use of Show Preview. For more information, check out this page. OK. GameDestroyer2008 11:37, November 14, 2022 (EST)

It disappoints me that nobody actually talked to me about the reused assets for playable characters section that was the whole reason why i made this talkpage. The only new thing i know in regards to that is that Kazuya still uses the same almost 30 year animations used since the original Tekken. GameDestroyer2008 11:42, November 14, 2022 (EST)

Well, as per SW:UTPG, user talk pages are primarily used to contact users, and not for on-wiki matters unless it relates to the user. Your question is probably better off at Talk:Fighter since it relates to that. CookiesCnC Signature.pngCreme 15:16, November 14, 2022 (EST)
While policies are being brought up, you should check SW:SIG. Specifically, your signature should have a link to either your user page or your user talk page (preferably both). --CanvasK (talk) 15:34, November 14, 2022 (EST)

Because it is a generic pose used by multiple fighters, and the fact that Secret Rings, or Heroes, have very little representing them in Smash in the first place, that's what make's it extremely unlikely that it's a reference of something from Sonic's own games in the place.
