Deoxys actually made its debut in ''FireRed'' and ''LeafGreen'' through a special event where a player can get a ticket to travel to a new island in the Sevii Islands. The appearance of the [[Pokémon Trainer (SSBB)|Pokémon Trainer]] character is based on the male trainer from ''FireRed'' and ''LeafGreen'', and his three Pokémon are the starter Pokémon from Kanto, each at a different stage in evolution.
