You have always seem to forget about the limit of placements on the "Most historically significant players" section. A maximum of 5 offline and 5 online placements are allowed to be listed for each player. This is simply a friendly reminder. For smasher pages, there should be only a maximum of 8 offline and 8 online wins. Anything beyond that is over the limit. So whenever you want to add better wins, make sure it isn't over the limit and if so remove wins that are less good. Gonna remind you about this again, if a player already has eight wins listed, replace the least notable win with whatever win you're adding. Eight is more than enough to get the point across, we don't want intros on smasher articles to become a mass of contextless wins that readers can't comprehend. Omega Tyrant 19:16, June 17, 2023 (EDT)

While I can't currently check smashdata.gg since it's held together by duct tape, back when I checked last week, SWT: Central America Regional Finals was the only offline set that was listed for Sparg0 and Nair^ post-quarantine. I also checked Liquipedia and PGStats as well. If you're referring to their set at Delfino Maza, that was in 2019; it's not the same event as RETA 2022. ==MHSP summaries==
Just a quick heads up, the MHSP guidelines state to actually contextualize why each player is notable rather than list off wins and tournament placements. The Ultimate sections are really bad at this, so I've been slowly going through each section and adding more context instead of just blatantly listing a tournament placement list and win list without context. As such, I removed the win list for ShinyMark's summary since he's the best Pikachu in the post-online metagame and the only other Pikachu player to ever make top 8 at majors, and to be quite honest that basically covers why he is historically significant; a win list doesn't add much else aside from adding bloat to the section. While the VIP category pages haven't been updated yet to reflect their pending overhaul and updated guidelines as we are still in the process of formally voting on everyone in these categories, you are not to add any more people into these categories unilaterally, as all future VIP additions will require formal voting. If you wish to propose adding KID or anyone else to these categories, you should join our Discord server and make your case there, as I am building a proposal list for new additions after we clean out the categories, though I'll say now I'm gonna hard veto adding KID to the list as his case is very weak (has not even been globally ranked yet, and just "innovating" a character isn't enough anymore, while it's not like Mii Brawler didn't exist before KID either). Since you do a lot of competitive editing in general and I noticed you've added many players before to the VIP categories, I strongly suggest you join our Discord server anyway to take part in discussions and voting of competitive content on the wiki. Omega Tyrant 15:20, February 26, 2024 (EST)

acola Aegis
Given how you said acola had a "bunch of top 10-20 players" he's defeating, I'm just asking what you mean by this, since for all I know acola only defeated three players while using Aegis the entire set, that being Sparg0 at Kowloon 12 with Kagaribi, Doramigi at Kamisuma 24, and Miya at the recent Umebura. His other Aegis usage has been mostly in favor of Steve as far as I know:
*Doramigi at Kamisuma 22, but only in the last two games
*Asimo at KOWLOON 10, but only in their final game
*TamaPDaifuku at DELTA 8, but again only in their final game
As such, I don't really think you can call this a "bunch of top 10-20 players" when his Aegis so far has only been successful alone against three players, two of which acola had defeated with Steve several times in the past. I do understand it is exciting to see acola's Aegis succeed, especially against opponents he had trouble against in the past, but I do have to remind you that a discussion is almost always required before a player is added into the most historically significant player section, and that recency bias should certainly be kept in check. Not to mention, for these sections we have been switching out the "list best tournaments and then wins" blurbs with blurbs that try to give more explanations as to why they are considered historically significant.
That being said, we are currently doing several votes and discussions on players to be added to MHSP, so I will bring up acola as a potential candidate for Aegis and see what others have to say about him. Adding players to the most historically player sections[edit]

A quick heads up, if you want to add a player to this section, please bring it up in the talk page first and, if a consensus is reached, the player can be added. Players shouldn’t be added to these sections just because they have a few good results. CookiesCnC Signature.pngCreme 10:21, October 24, 2021 (EDT)

Furthermore, outside of weeklies and that one regional, this is the first time KEN used Sephiroth in a tournament, so not only is it too early to know whether KEN would actually stick with the character, but there’s also recency bias, hence why KEN was removed from Sephiroth’s section. If he continues to stick with the character and place well at nationals, I wouldn’t be against to adding him, but we have yet to reach that time. Bushido Brawl Impact[edit]

While I acknowlege your point about both tournaments having a Top 5 player in attendance (although neither Ally not Mr.R are from USA), there are some important things to note:

1. Bushido Brawl Impact was (and still is) the largest Brawl tournament to happen within an entire continent (Europe), whereas Smash Factor 4 was only the largest within a single country (Mexico) at the time it happened.

2. Less than half of the players who made Top 32 at Bushido Brawl Impact were from France (the region the tournament was held in), meaning tons of players traveled from other countries to compete in it and making it far more international than Smash Factor 4.

3. Even if using the most recent PGRU TTS for Ultimate (which is more lenient to international tournaments than every previous TTS for Smash 4/Ultimate), Smash Factor 4 would at best be only a B-Tier event. While I know Bushido Brawl Impact is technically smaller in size, it should be noted that the scene was much smaller in 2010 than it was in 2015; the largest singles event for any Smash game at the time was 347 for Melee (with Brawl's largest being 303) vs. 1,926 for EVO 2015. PokemonMasterJamal3 (talk) 16:20, March 11, 2022 (EST)

Fair enough I suppose, especially considering back in the Brawl times it's harder to tell what a major is considering there was no PGR, so sure, I'd say Glutonny's win at that event counts.--Hydreigonfan01 (talk) 09:30, March 12, 2022 (EST)
