'''<big>Some rules for my talk page:</big>'''
*The obvious stuff:
**When making a new thread, please click "new section" at the top (next to "edit this page") and give the thread a subject. Alternatively, you can click "edit this page" anyway and use four equals signs (====) to name your subject, with the subject name between the second and third equal signs (==Like this==). Just be sure to write everything under the latest discussion topic.
**Please indent your comments with a colon (''':''') when making a reply. The more replies you make to a single thread post, the more colons you should indent with: The first reply should have one, the second one should have two, the third should three, and so on.
**Please sign your comments with four tildes <nowiki>~~~~</nowiki>.
**After leaving a message, please check back to my talk page to see if I have responded to you. If I have made a thread on your or another user's talk page, please post your reply there instead of making a new thread about the same topic here.
**[[SW:NPA|No personal attacks]]. Doesn't matter if it's directed towards me or another person, please write your message to be as neutral as possible.
**Please do not [[SmashWiki is not an instant messaging service|use my talk page as a means to chat to me about]] [[SmashWiki is not for off-wiki business|off-wiki business]].
*Some personal rules:
**Please do not ask me to add anything to my personal sandboxes. For my "Ideas" sandboxes, I'm simply not interested in other people's ideas. For the rest, if something new comes out, you don't have to remind me, as it's very much likely I already know about it and it may just be that I don't have the time to update my sandbox(es).
**I have no interest in the competitive side of the ''Super Smash Bros.'' series, so please avoid making any discussions related to it ([[Smasher]] pages, [[tournaments]], [[tier list]]s, etc.).
**Although [[SW:NOT|SmashWiki is not censored]], I'd prefer if you avoid the use of any "derogatory slurs" (specifically, anything relating to race, religion, gender, sexuality, or disabilities), even if the context you use them in is not supposed to be directed towards the group in question.

== Byte saving ==
I noticed on your sandbox for Spirit Battle stats that you link to the spirits-by-series pages a lot. If you swap them to <nowiki>{{h2}}</nowiki> you'll save about 10k bytes (if I compared correctly). Here's some regex if you want to make the change: Search: <code><nowiki>\[\[([^\[]+)\#([^\[]+)\|\2\]\]</nowiki></code> Replace: <code><nowiki>{{h2|$1|$2}}</nowiki></code>. I'd recommend using something other than the wiki editor for regex replacements on a large page like that one because it can be pretty slow. --[[User:CanvasK|CanvasK]] ([[User talk:CanvasK|talk]]) 05:58, January 6, 2021 (EST)
:Hey, sorry for the very late reply. Anyway, I'm not very familiar with "regax replacing" (this is the first time I'm hearing of it even), so I'm afraid that your suggestion of "using something other than the wiki editor" is too vague for my understanding.
:If you're referring to external extensions, the device I currently have technically isn't mine, so I don't wanna risk adding stuff that the owner(s) might not approve of. ::Pretty much any text editor. I personally use Notepad++ because it is lightweight and doesn't ask to download anything. Using the wiki editor is fine, I've only run into issues on massive pages like the spirit's complete list. With the wiki editor you'll want the advanced toolbar, click the search button on the top right, click "Treat search string as a '''reg'''ular '''ex'''pression", put the text above into the respective text boxes, and click "Replace All". I don't mind doing it for you if you want. --[[User:CanvasK|CanvasK]] ([[User talk:CanvasK|talk]]) 08:27, January 8, 2021 (EST)

Two things

OK so the first is something I've been meaning to bring up long ago but it completely slipped my mind. Have you considered getting rollback? I noticed when you undo multiple strings vandalism you do it one by one like here. With rollback as long as it's the most recent revision and from the same user, you can undo all of it at once. All you need to do to get it is use 3 examples of you undoing vandalism from 3 different users/IPs in SW:RFR.

Second as with this discussion I was wondering what your opinion is on if 3rd party minor universes should be split and possibly merged with the minor namco universes. I noticed you seem to have an interest in minor universes I felt you should know about this. I'll also ask an admin for their opinion too. 001Toad.jpg OmegαToαd64the Best Kαrter 22:57, April 29, 2020 (EDT)

Carp I put the wrong link, I meant undoing them one by one like here (you may need to scroll down a bit to see what I mean). I guess for fun you can guess what my profile picture on WikiBound is without going to my profile, the picture is the wrong link I put earlier. 001Toad.jpg OmegαToαd64the Best Kαrter 23:02, April 29, 2020 (EDT)
To answer the first topic: I have considered it for a long time, but given the requirements, I just have no interest at the moment.
For the second topic: I have just voiced my opinion over there, so check it out if you can. SmashTurtlesSig1.pngSuperSmashTurtles of the Turtle TribeSmashTurtlesSig2.png 23:54, April 29, 2020 (EDT)
OK that's no problem. I should mention an alternative way of undoing multiple edits like that: First go to page history then visit an older revision of a page, and click "edit this page". Then after that click "save changes" and congrats you performed a pseudo rollback. It's not as fast as rollback but it's more convenient than undoing them one at a time.
(I don't know what the heck happened to the first link but I'm sure that image won't get copyrighted that since I drew him myself...)
As for the second I'll go to that page to voice my thoughts. 001Toad.jpg OmegαToαd64the Best Kαrter 00:44, April 30, 2020 (EDT)
Wow, it does work. I actually was aware of this method, I just wasn't sure if it was allowed. Thanks for the advice, anyway.
Off-topic, but I appreciate that fanart you did of Oliver from Oliver and Company, even though it's been, like, nearly 2 decades since I saw that film. I have gained an interest in obscure Disney media (especially works from overseas) in recent years, which you can tell if you've gotten the chance to see my now-deleted Kingdom Hearts sandbox. I just hope that one day that series actually does include something like trophies/stickers/spirits so stuff like The Black Cauldron or Treasure Planet can actually get some form of representation since they're pretty much never gonna get worlds. SmashTurtlesSig1.pngSuperSmashTurtles of the Turtle TribeSmashTurtlesSig2.png 04:49, April 30, 2020 (EDT)
Yup it is allowed, it's even mentioned in the rollback page itself. If you ever do consider rollback it's actually very easy to get. I managed to earn it before becoming an established user (and on that note Black Vulpine obtained rollback before he was even autoconfirmed). On a side note I didn't expect my drawing of Oliver to be appreciated so thanks for that. I actually think he's really underrated and deserves more recognition (and he's not the only one who I feel this way with), and fueled by my love for cats that's why he's one of my favorite characters not just in films but pretty much ever. Normally I wouldn't start off-wiki conversations but since we're off topic here's a bit a trivia about me and Oliver: After I first watched Oliver and Company years ago I had a dream he was Ness's pet and traveling companion in an EarthBound anime (hilariously having Isaac Marshall, Toad's MK64 voice actor, voiced him and Ness and sounding like Toad but higher). His attacks consisted of headbutts, tail whips, and PK Fire. Since then I had small ideas on how an EarthBound anime should work, and every episode has him in it. Once I have the power to hack EarthBound I want to replace King's sprite with the sprites used for cats and recolor him like Oliver, and if possible disable the Event that causes King to run away at the meteor site so he can stay throughout the game. I even have plans to make him into a custom stage in Ultimate.
Anyway since off-wiki conversations should be limited I don't want to be doing this too often. I just wanted to share my story about Oliver since you liked my drawing of him. 001Toad.jpg OmegαToαd64the Best Kαrter 06:37, April 30, 2020 (EDT)

Spirit idea for turtle fans

Do you think you would like my idea of A torkoal spirit battle with a red super spicy curry bowser in that one lava Metroid stage with Hoenn music playing since you are a Nintendo turtle fan or should it just be my own idea? 174.55.24.64 17:48, May 1, 2020 (EDT)

Spirit battle stats

I recently saw you made a page about Spirit battle statistics and wanted to know if you'd like a hand with it. A few weeks ago I scraped every battle from the wiki so I could look for errors, meaning I now have a spreadsheet of every battle. Let me know if you're interested and I'll do what I can. (also one of the icons for Richter and Pac-Man has a typo) --CanvasK (talk) 18:01, May 3, 2020 (EDT)

Thanks for the suggestion, but I'd rather add everything on my own, even if it would take an eternity. You could help if I make any errors, though. (As for the Richter and Pac-Man typos: These are just templates for when I need to add in some spirit battles, so I don't feel there's a need to correct the typos right now) SmashTurtlesSig1.pngSuperSmashTurtles of the Turtle TribeSmashTurtlesSig2.png 18:40, May 3, 2020 (EDT)
Understood. Good luck with your project! --CanvasK (talk) 18:45, May 3, 2020 (EDT)

Losing animations?

I know that we list victory poses, but why don't we list losing animations? SonDanielAn icon for my signature.A signature head icon. (talk page) 16:02, May 8, 2020 (EDT)

Can't really tell ya, bud. Although I've been on this Wiki for nearly 5 years, I'm still only a casual editor, so I'm afraid I can't really give you the best of advice. SmashTurtlesSig1.pngSuperSmashTurtles of the Turtle TribeSmashTurtlesSig2.png 16:05, May 8, 2020 (EDT)
I'm 90% certain that almost every losing animation is just the character clapping, with the only exceptions being Mewtwo, Ice Climbers, and Jigglypuff, and the exceptions are already on here I believe. 72.203.118.154 17:29, May 8, 2020 (EDT)

This edit summary

I don't wanna cause any trouble, but you mind if I asked the story behind this and one other summary I saw like it? Being a furry myself, I'm naturally a little bit confused at how to take this... Black Vulpine of the Furry Nation. Furries make the internets go! :3 18:13, May 10, 2020 (EDT)

Those edit summaries are supposed to be jokes that are more directed towards the characters rather than the actual fandom. I've seen OmegaToad do these types of "freaking furries" edit summaries to other anthropomorphic animal characters on the Wiki, so I thought I might joke around, too. I do sincerely apologize if my edit summaries may come off as rather hostile, though.
Now, I will admit that I would probably call myself atleast a borderline "semi-furry" (or "scaly", given my whole "turtle" motif), so I dunno if I'm the most "qualified" to make these jokes. SmashTurtlesSig1.pngSuperSmashTurtles of the Turtle TribeSmashTurtlesSig2.png 18:25, May 10, 2020 (EDT)
Yeah I guess since I was brought up nd to avoid conflicts apologies if you were offended, but yeah those were jokes towards the characters rather than the actual fandom themselves. Well... all I can say I do like Animal Crossing though. I also love cats. A lot, and as you can see I really like Oliver a lot and I've always wanted to make him an EarthBound character, plus he reminds me of my cat in real life. 001Toad.jpg OmegαToαd64the Best Kαrter 18:36, May 10, 2020 (EDT)
To both of you, no offense has been taken, I was just left with a bit of a question mark over those summaries. Perhaps I might have been taking them too seriously, but it's fine by me for you guys to do that. Black Vulpine of the Furry Nation. Furries make the internets go! :3 18:56, May 10, 2020 (EDT)

Chronicle rewrite

Hey, I wanted to inform you that I was working on another User:Rdrfc/Chronicles rewrite of the Chronicle page; I was focusing on adding an universe column to the tables and then adding interwiki links. If you don't mind, I could merge my work in your subpage.--Rdrfc (talk) 06:41, May 22, 2020 (EDT)

Thanks, but I'm gonna wait until I'm fully done with my Chronicle draft. SmashTurtlesSig1.pngSuperSmashTurtles of the Turtle TribeSmashTurtlesSig2.png 06:45, May 22, 2020 (EDT)
Now that you have completed it, is it fine if I go ahead? I know you want to also make the order more accurate to in-game but this is something that can easily be done in-between, considering you would have to check on an actual copy of the game. --Rdrfc (talk) 09:39, May 25, 2020 (EDT)
Technically, the rewrite is still incomplete. I don't have a copy of Brawl to verify the order, and there's zero footage online that shows the completed list for any region. Sorry, but I'm still gonna have to decline your offer for now. SmashTurtlesSig1.pngSuperSmashTurtles of the Turtle TribeSmashTurtlesSig2.png 10:51, May 25, 2020 (EDT)
Well, unless you plan to acquire a copy of Brawl for every region in short order, this is probably going to sit in your userspace forever with no progress made on it, even though it is, in my opinion, already good enough to add other improvements on it or even already move it to mainspace, but it's your userspace so you are the boss anyway. --Rdrfc (talk) 04:47, May 26, 2020 (EDT)
Well, I've had a discussion with a user here named WarioFan63 (who made an entire video on his YouTube channel about this feature), and he is considering searching for the other regions' Chronicle listings. SmashTurtlesSig1.pngSuperSmashTurtles of the Turtle TribeSmashTurtlesSig2.png 11:41, May 26, 2020 (EDT)
I have a US copy of Brawl and I've come across an iso for the PAL version, I should be able to help with those leaving only the Japanese version to be found. I have some other projects on my plate so I can't help with it right now, but if WarioFan63 doesn't have the resources (or time/desire) then I can chip in afterwards. --CanvasK (talk) 14:38, May 26, 2020 (EDT)
Hey there, I hope you don't mind me tagging in down here, but I've got a video on the rest of the PAL copy if you still think it'll be helpful.WarioFan63 (talk) 16:30, June 7, 2020 (EDT)

Hey, seems you got it completed by now, is it fine if I add the column to the various tables? --Rdrfc (talk) 06:36, June 22, 2020 (EDT)

Eh, I don't feel like the universe column is all that necessary. SmashTurtlesSig1.pngSuperSmashTurtles of the Turtle TribeSmashTurtlesSig2.png 06:51, June 22, 2020 (EDT)

About your new sandbox

What do you think of me and peabodysam adding Metroid and Pokémon sections for the SSB4 trophies? 174.55.24.64 22:58, June 7, 2020 (EDT)

Other Regional Variant Info

Hey, since you seemed pretty intent on wanting the most accurate Chronicle possible, I was wondering if there was anything else in the Wiki that you feel like could have regional variant updates to it? Specifically, I was thinking about how trophies in the Japanese version of Melee usually listed two games where applicable instead of just one. I also wasn't planning on keeping this copy of Korean Brawl, but then I noticed that the Selected Works for Mario was changed to be NSMB and Super Mario Galaxy, so there might be some use in comparing stuff there. Of course, I also don't know if adding in that stuff would mean having to add in the entirety of the trophy descriptions as well, which would likely be a huge undertaking. WarioFan63 (talk) 19:47, June 9, 2020 (EDT)

Eh, the Chronicle was the only thing I felt really needed a fixing. I'm gonna pass your suggestion (for now, atleast). SmashTurtlesSig1.pngSuperSmashTurtles of the Turtle TribeSmashTurtlesSig2.png 20:43, June 9, 2020 (EDT)

Userpage deletion

You moved [[User:SuperSmashTurtles/Chronicle related ideas]] and marked its redirect for deletion, but it still has 6 subpages, so it would leave a mess to delete it at the moment. You should probably rename the whole group of subpages as you wish before staff deletes the redirects. Toomai Glittershine ??? The Dispenser 07:16, July 13, 2020 (EDT)

Rollovers

Why shouldn’t rollovers be added to your new sandbox if it’s important for some character’s debuts like Roy in Melee and some Pokémon in the anime and banjo still has Diddy king racing as his debut here anyways? 174.55.24.64 14:38, July 30, 2020 (EDT)

Assist trophy movie appearaences

Since you told disaster flare you were gonna do that, will Little Mac , Dark Samus, and Isabelle count? And does the Nightmare salesman from the Kirby anime count as Nightmare? 174.55.24.64 20:05, August 14, 2020 (EDT)

I'd like to butt in real quick to say that N.M.E. Sales Guy ("Nightmare salesman's" name according to wikirby) is not Nightmare, just a sales guy for Nightmare's company. I think the person you are thinking of is eNeMeE, who is literally Nightmare. --CanvasK (talk) 21:08, August 14, 2020 (EDT)
To answer IP's question: since the promoted ATs are already on Flare's sandbox, I don't feel there's a need to include them. SmashTurtlesSig1.pngSuperSmashTurtles of the Turtle TribeSmashTurtlesSig2.png 21:40, August 14, 2020 (EDT)

Why

Was my edit removed? 174.55.24.64 21:12, August 15, 2020 (EDT)

Popularity from a non-game adaptation just doesn't qualify as representation, at all. Also, I heavily doubt Pikachu's popularity came exclusively from the anime. It's highly possible that it was pretty popular when Red and Green came out in Japan, it's just that the anime boosted its popularity further. SmashTurtlesSig1.pngSuperSmashTurtles of the Turtle TribeSmashTurtlesSig2.png 21:17, August 15, 2020 (EDT)
By the way, Source Gaming said that Jigglypuff is in SSB because of the anime one that sings ash and his friends and team rocket to sleep. 174.55.24.64 22:48, August 15, 2020 (EDT)
Regardless of whether it was included because of the one in the anime or not, the Jigglypuff in Smash has almost no connections to the one in the anime (other than it having green eyes, but even that got dropped in Smash 4). Bringing Back the '80s edit

Sorry about that, my mind totally blanked out and for some reason I thought the event ran in 2019. Thank you for bringing that to my attention, ahah. ~ Serena Strawberry (talk) 13:35, October 1, 2020 (EDT)

Ugh, my sense of time is totally messed up. Ignore that then. I'll try to work on something that doesn't involve time, lmao. ~ Serena Strawberry (talk) 13:39, October 1, 2020 (EDT)

Sonic edit

Sorry about the Sonic edit I just did, I was going to make it a trivia point talking about the meme, not to vandalize. I accidentally pressed the save changes button while doing it. PowerShield03 (talk) 22:57, October 2, 2020 (EST)

It's all fine. To be honest, I'd probably discuss about that first before adding it. SmashTurtlesSig1.pngSuperSmashTurtles of the Turtle TribeSmashTurtlesSig2.png 22:58, October 2, 2020 (EDT)

I was attempting to block that pesky IP and misclicked on the button targeting you instead. My apologies for that. Miles (talk) 20:33, October 7, 2020 (EDT)

It's alright. I actually saw the unblocked message first, so I immediately knew it was a mistake on your part.
That's probably the first time I've ever seen someone get blocked on this Wiki by mistake. :P SmashTurtlesSig1.pngSuperSmashTurtles of the Turtle TribeSmashTurtlesSig2.png 20:35, October 7, 2020 (EDT)

Where’s entities that skipped smash 4? 174.55.24.64 20:38, October 11, 2020 (EDT)

I'm currently not sure how large the cut roster is between Brawl and Smash 4 (I'm expecting it to be rather big, though), so I decided not to do it right away. I have just started work on it though, so don't worry. SmashTurtlesSig1.pngSuperSmashTurtles of the Turtle TribeSmashTurtlesSig2.png 20:42, October 11, 2020 (EDT)

Regarding this

While I still would have removed the Game Freak thing, the edit summary you gave is actually incorrect - according to Wikipedia, TPC is owned by Game Freak. Black Vulpine of the 🦊Furry Nation🐺. Furries make the internets go! :3 05:16, October 18, 2020 (EDT)

When I said "separate", I only meant they weren't one and the same. I didn't necessarily mention whether GF owns TPC or not. It's like how Nintendo owns Monolith, but the latter is still their own company. Perhaps I could've used a better word. I'd also use Bulbapedia as a better source if I were you, though they prolly list that same info anyway SmashTurtlesSig1.pngSuperSmashTurtles of the Turtle TribeSmashTurtlesSig2.png 05:21, October 18, 2020 (EDT)

Minecraft Crossovers

The 4 crossevers I added to trivia on the Minecraft page were the 4 games are in both smash and minecraft that wasn't already mentioned. Wasn't planning on doing every single crossover lol. On the Kappas Tale part of your sandbox, most people won’t know what a kappa (not Kappn or Koopa) is so if you want to you could explain what a kappa is and I think you should mention that Blast corps and jet force Gemini were planned SSBU spirits. This is not spam. 174.55.24.64 19:59, October 28, 2020 (EDT)

Regarding the first question: Eh, I don't feel it's necessary. I think Kappas are pretty well known at this point, and the people who wanna know what they are can just look them up.
As for the second, I don't feel like mentioning those games' planned content just to be consistent with the other universe sections. SmashTurtlesSig1.pngSuperSmashTurtles of the Turtle TribeSmashTurtlesSig2.png 20:17, October 28, 2020 (EDT)

Onsite stock icons

I've seen various users on the site with little images next to their names that resemble stock icons from SSB4 or Brawl. How do I change mine? (It's currently just a blue Smash logo but I can't find a way to make it one of my mains like Ludwig or K. Rool. Samboi123 (talk) 09:23, October 29, 2020 (EDT)

Alright, it's been a while since I did this, so hopefully this helps:
First, find the images you want to use in your username signature, save them, and upload them onto the Wiki. Keep in mind that you might get a warning that the upload is a duplicate file, so ignore that. Provided that the image is a duplicate, it's highly preferable to give it a different name than the original file (Something like "SSBWikiUserSig1.png").

Second, click on "preferences" at the top right screen (it should be right between "talk" and "watchlist".

Third, click on the box next to "Treat signature as wikitext (without an automatic link)" so it is blue with a checkmark. That should make your signature visible.

And lastly, type in whatever you want your signature to say. Keep in mind that there is a limit on how many characters you can use (I believe it's 255). Here's an example on how to write one:
[[File:SSBWikiUserSig1.png|20px]][[User:SmashWikiUser|'''Just a SmashWiki User''']][[File:SSBWikiUserSig2.png|20px]]

As a side bonus, if you want to know how to use color for your username, type in something like this:
<span style="color: red;">WHO ATE ALL OF MY CANDY?!!!</span>
It should look like this:
WHO ATE ALL OF MY CANDY?!!!
Alternatively, if you wanna use more complex colors, type in something like this:
<span style="color:#9CCB54">Why am I such as ugly color? This is the worst!</span> (You might wanna find a color picker site to look for the color you need.)
It should look like this:
Why am I such an ugly color? This is the worst!
Hope this helps. SmashTurtlesSig1.pngSuperSmashTurtles of the Turtle TribeSmashTurtlesSig2.png 10:11, October 29, 2020 (EDT)

how do you add info on your user page? thanks. theo(:922 (talk) 20:59, November 19, 2020 (EST) Never mind. Pautana.uaer.avatar.jpgtheo(:922RidleyIcon.png 17:25, November 21, 2020 (EST)

iw template

The reason why I used {{iw}} here is based on my understanding of {{s}}'s talk page and the discussion on Aidan's talk page. My understanding is {{s}} (primarily) is a simple link maker for other namespaces on Smash Wiki, where {{iw}} is for interwiki links. I'm not sure how strict the separation is intended to or should be, but I figured a byte here and there won't hurt anything and interwiki being shortened to iw seems more clear to new users. This isn't something I'll fight about, just giving my thought process. --CanvasK (talk) 14:21, November 23, 2020 (EST)

Byte saving

I noticed on your sandbox for Spirit Battle stats that you link to the spirits-by-series pages a lot. If you swap them to {{h2}} you'll save about 10k bytes (if I compared correctly). Here's some regex if you want to make the change: Search: \[\[([^\[]+)\#([^\[]+)\|\2\]\] Replace: {{h2|$1|$2}}. I'd recommend using something other than the wiki editor for regex replacements on a large page like that one because it can be pretty slow. --CanvasK (talk) 05:58, January 6, 2021 (EST)

Hey, sorry for the very late reply. Anyway, I'm not very familiar with "regax replacing" (this is the first time I'm hearing of it even), so I'm afraid that your suggestion of "using something other than the wiki editor" is too vague for my understanding.
If you're referring to external extensions, the device I currently have technically isn't mine, so I don't wanna risk adding stuff that the owner(s) might not approve of. SmashTurtlesSig1.pngSuperSmashTurtles of the Turtle TribeSmashTurtlesSig2.png 02:42, January 8, 2021 (EST)
Pretty much any text editor. I personally use Notepad++ because it is lightweight and doesn't ask to download anything. Using the wiki editor is fine, I've only run into issues on massive pages like the spirit's complete list. With the wiki editor you'll want the advanced toolbar, click the search button on the top right, click "Treat search string as a regular expression", put the text above into the respective text boxes, and click "Replace All". I don't mind doing it for you if you want. --CanvasK (talk) 08:27, January 8, 2021 (EST)
Yeah, you can do it all you want. I don't think I'll ever have the time to do it myself. Thanks for the offer, though. SmashTurtlesSig1.pngSuperSmashTurtles of the Turtle TribeSmashTurtlesSig2.png 10:35, January 8, 2021 (EST)
