:It's been proposed before and failed. I personally say "no" because I already have a hard enough time trying to keep the existing pages in line. There's 40 for series, 88 for fighters, spirits with DLC changes, Gold fighter and Giant DK for some reason, and maybe a few more plus over 70 events; adding 110+ stages to that would complicate that more. There's also no/rare mention of Classice Mode or Event matches on the stage pages, which many would argue would be more important information than spirits. --CanvasK (talk) 11:23, January 16, 2021 (EST) | |||

Single player stage: SSE stages[edit]
yeah, but what if there are more then one player playing? should we make an exception? -[-=-]-Lucas-IV- An Enderman! Sh-SMACK! 09:18, 3 October 2011 (EDT)
Game Logos in Brawl[edit]
I came across a site that has a rip of the game logo sprites that appear along with the stages in Brawl. [1] Does anybody think we should somehow incorporate these logos into the Brawl stage articles? Unknown the Hedgehog 19:42, 25 March 2012 (EDT)
- If we have them all there, then that would definitely be something I'd want to implement. I don't quite know how though. Toast ltimatum

The Cheese says: On the navigation thing on the left side of the page shouldn't the link labeled "stages" lead to a list of stages insted of this page? The Cheese 10:58, 26 June 2012 (EDT)
New Yoshi Stage?[edit]
Right here, right by Melee Yoshi Island. Should it be mentioned? GamerGuy09 (talk) 22:17, 23 October 2014 (EDT)
Omega Stages[edit]
Should each stage have a section for a brief description about the differences between the normal and omega forms? Because I saw more changes for a lot of stages than simply making it look like Final Destination. ZeldaStarfoxfan2164 (talk) is a never lover boy 23:37, 8 December 2014 (EST)
- Maybe something like "while the general background and theme remains unchanged, the playable surface may have a completely different construction"? I mean, this is a general page, so we can't really go into specifics. Toomai Glittershine The Prismatic 23:39, 8 December 2014 (EST)
- That's what I meant about "sections" for each stage page, not separate pages. ZeldaStarfoxfan2164 (talk) is bad for me 23:42, 8 December 2014 (EST)
- Okay yeah I read what you wrote wrong, I thought you meant "list all omega foms on this one page". Yes, all stages should have an omega section with the applicable image in it. Toomai Glittershine The Spark 23:50, 8 December 2014 (EST)

Wii U Japanese Stage Select?[edit]
In the Japanese version of the Super Mario Maker trailer, the stage select screen looked like the image you see on the right. should we note the apparent removal of the extra stages section anywhere? Nyargleblargle (Talk · Contribs) 06:26, 15 September 2015 (EDT)
- The resolution of the above image seems familiar. Because the original file's resolution is the exact same as the iPhone 6's resolution! xD INoMed, King of Demons (Talk) 06:29, 15 September 2015 (EDT)
- That's because it was a capture taken on an iPhone 6 :P Nyargleblargle (Talk · Contribs) 06:41, 15 September 2015 (EDT)

Brawl & SSB4 Result Screens[edit]
Does Brawl's and SSB4's result screens counts as unused stages? Recently, I saw a glitch that lets you play on SSB4's one (which has been patched), and I don't remember how, but I think I was also able to play on Brawl's... --Metalex123 (talk) 14:28, 21 February 2016 (EST)
The list of unconfirmed SSBU stages[edit]
People keep re-editing this into the page, but there's not really any point to it. If anyone's wondering what stages aren't in, they can just look at SSBU's list and find out what's missing themselves, or use the cross-game table. Having a list of every stage that COULD possibly be in SSBU does nothing but add unnecessary clutter to the page and is speculative in nature, something that has no business on a page like this. --Burb (talk) 22:02, 8 July 2018 (EDT)
Support: I agree that we shouldn't have a list of unconfirmed stages for the same reason we don't have a list of unconfirmed characters (Waluigi). This is about what is in the game, not what isn't or may potentially be. VoqéoT 08:57, 9 July 2018 (EDT)
I would also like to add that I'm rather disappointed that there's a revert war going on (SW:1RV), rather than discussing it out in the talk page to reach a consensus. VoqéoT 09:06, 9 July 2018 (EDT)
I mentioned the talk page myself, but Trainer Alex stated that the "consensus decided it should be there", and wouldn't elaborate when I asked if a vote had already been held. --Burb (talk) 09:08, 9 July 2018 (EDT)
- Excuse me, I said no such thing. What I said was that you had not followed correct procedure according to SW:CONSENSUS Alex the Jigglypuff trainer 09:10, 9 July 2018 (EDT)
I misunderstood what you meant be "consensus". My bad. But, still, this addition to the page makes absolutely no sense and we already have the cross-game table that serves the same purpose without adding a speculation column to the bottom of a page that shouldn't have speculation on it. There's no justification for this at all. It'd be the equivalent of if we started listing all noteworthy characters that haven't been disconfirmed already as "Possible Newcomers" on Smash Ultimate's main page. --Burb (talk) 09:15, 9 July 2018 (EDT)
- I agree, and I support this proposal, but policy should still be followed. Alex the Jigglypuff trainer 09:18, 9 July 2018 (EDT)
Support. I was the one who tried to remove it in the first place. I was doing it before it was cool :P Ahemtoday (talk) 09:30, 9 July 2018 (EDT)
I also Support this proposal, but I must also stress the seriousness of what you are doing by flouting our policies on edit warring and consensus. I strongly advise you to read up on our policies before you do anything more on this site. Black Vulpine of the Furry Nation. Furries make the internets go! :3 10:19, 9 July 2018 (EDT)
Support, as we're not speculative. The table makes it clear that we don't know whether it will be back or not. Putting a list like this in makes it seem like they will, it just hasn't been shown yet (which is speculation at its finest). Aidan, the College-Bound Rurouni 11:27, 9 July 2018 (EDT)
Support, this list is just confusing to the reader and, as already mentionned above, purely speculative in its nature. Ponyshment 11:32, 9 July 2018 (EDT)
Unconfirmed stages[edit]
Is there any evidence that the stages that were not show in the direct to be ultimately confirmed not to return? ZeldaStarfoxfan2164 (talk) is made in America 15:46, 8 August 2018 (EDT)
- Ha, nice pun (whether or not it's intentional, I don't know, but it's a good one). To answer your question, GameXplain did point out that they showed a Monster Hunter stage not included in the 103 stage count so those stages could be back. I also asked about this before noticing you did as well (see below). Aykrivwassup (talk) 17:57, 8 August 2018 (EDT)
Unconfirmed Stages Redux[edit]
I noticed that the stages that weren't confirmed in today's Direct (including Poké Floats, Jungle Hijinks and Icicle Mountain) are marked as not returning, but there was also a Monster Hunter stage that, as pointed out by GameXplain in their recent Discussion video, wasn't included in the 103 count, which means there will be more than 103 stages. Should the count be adjusted and the X symbols be reverted to ~s/maybes, or should they remain as X's until confirmed? Aykrivwassup (talk) 17:54, 8 August 2018 (EDT)
- It's not clear if the Monster Hunter "stage" is actually a stage; think the "unknown jungle stage" from Smash 4 that turned out to be Smash Run.
- Sakurai quite clearly said that there were "103" stages, with 100 if you don't count Battlefield, Big Battlefield, or Final Destination, whereas he said there were "more than" however many music tracks he said. Seems pretty straightforward to me. TheNuttyOne 18:11, 8 August 2018 (EDT)
- I suppose that's a possibility. I'm just really hoping for Pac-Maze and Poké Floats. I checked back on the video and Sakurai said that the "stage total is turning out to be pretty impressive". Perhaps that means that they've developed 103 so far and have a few more planned? I dunno. We'll have to find out. I think we should change them back to maybes until then but I don't want to step on any toes so I'll leave it be if that's what you guys want. Aykrivwassup (talk) 22:50, 8 August 2018 (EDT)
- He said "there are NOW 103 stages". That doesn't mean that's all we're getting, the game development wasn't finished. - 68.190.118.39 04:21, 16 September 2018 (EDT)
- What he said (at least in the English translation) was "the total number of stages is..." which seems pretty definitive to me. SuperFalconBros (talk) 10:21, 16 September 2018 (EDT)
- Well, there is that CoroCoro issue that states that Smash Ultimate will have 108 stages instead of the 103 the Direct promised. Whether this was a mistake or these stages were added at the last minute, we'll have to wait and see. SuperSmashTurtles (talk) 23:56, 16 September 2018 (EDT)
- As far as I'm concerned, we haven't received confirmation of a final total (particularly as there's always an aspect of translation issues in non-explicit statements and different wordings in that same Direct seem to imply different things) and we should err on the side of caution. Add in the CoroCoro number being 108, and I say that until we get explicit confirmation that all the returning stages that will be in the game have been revealed, we leave the unconfirmed stages in the table with the "maybe" symbol, as it would hardly be incorrect if we were to have that and then change to "no" once confirmation is received (whereas it'd arguably be incorrect to put "no" as we don't clearly know). TheDavsto (talk) 12:38, 20 September 2018 (EDT)
