Intelligent Systems is a Japanese game developer. They played a part in the development of Super Smash Bros. Melee and Super Smash Bros. Brawl. Similar to HAL Laboratory, they are a second-party developer for Nintendo and only create games for Nintendo's consoles.
Intelligent Systems has developed a number of Smash-represented series over their long history. They are the primary developers of the Fire Emblem, Nintendo Wars, Paper Mario, WarioWare, Panel de Pon, Pushmo, Kaeru no Tame ni Kane wa Naru, Cubivore, and Soccer series. Intelligent Systems also developed Mario Kart: Super Circuit in the Mario Kart series, and co-developed Metroid and Super Metroid.
Aside from developing games, they also help Nintendo with certain projects, such as building the 3D camera into the Nintendo 3DS.
