Redeads first appeared in the game The Legend of Zelda: Orcarina of Time as enemies created by Ganondorf to haunt the city below his castle. They appear as enemies in the Legend of Zelda level, Underground Maze in Super Smash Bros. Melee's Adventure Mode and have a small chance of appearing from broken boxes during the melee mode of the game. ReDeads attack by sucking the life out of the player (in the Legend of Zelda Series). When fighing against ReDeads in Melee, they latch on to the character and increase his/her damage percentage.
