"Up throw" is a throw performed by pressing up on the control stick after having grabbed the enemy. Many up throws are capable of chain throwing fast-fallers.
Well known up throws include:
- Mewtwo's up throw is the strongest in Melee by far.
- Roy's is the 2nd strongest and can easily chain throw fast-fallers.
- Mr.Game and Watch also has a really good throw as he juggles the opponent then tosses them up at an angle which is the only up throw to be angled.
- Meta Knight's and Kirby's up throw brings the character upward off the screen, then slams the opponent down, which sometimes may act like a Wonder Height Recovery.
