The Skill parameter has been removed from Smasher infoboxes, and in its place are the new "Best historical ranking" and "Best tournament result" parameters. SmashWiki needs help adding these new parameters to Smasher infoboxes, refer to the guidelines here for what should be included in these new parameters. |
When adding results to Smasher pages, include each tournament's entrant number in addition to the player's placement, and use the {{Trn}} template with the matching game specified. Please also fix old results on Smasher pages that do not abide to this standard. Refer to our Smasher article guidelines to see how results tables should be formatted. |

Gargantuans (ガルガンチュア, Gargantua) is the 25th event match of the 51 event matches in Super Smash Bros. Melee. In this match, the player's character is Giant Bowser and the enemy is Giant Donkey Kong. The objective is to beat Giant Donkey Kong. Tiny black Mario and orange Peach also appear, but won't pose a threat since they are much weaker than normal characters. Donkey Kong will sometimes self-destruct between the two buildings on the right of the stage.
This event acts as a homage to monster films and the kaiju genre; the inclusion of Giant Donkey Kong is a reference to King Kong, a well-known American movie monster, and Giant Bowser acts as a reference to Godzilla, a movie monster hailing from Japan. As a result of these two appearing on Fourside, a large city environment like those seen in typical monster films, the entire Event Match is similar to the concept of the film King Kong vs. Godzilla. The inclusion of Tiny Mario and Tiny Peach emulates the frequent use of helpless civilians in such movies.
Trivia
- The tiny Mario and Peach present do not make sounds during this event and do not have to be KO'd to clear the event.
