My SSB4 Tier List

Unlike the past installments, I believe that nearly every character in the roster is viable. Even the E tier characters (to a small extent) can be used. However, there are still some characters that I would never recommend using in any match. Since this is a tier list, I can guarantee that people will have different opinions, so please be respectful! Also, the neglected Miis (my most wanted newcomer) will be included on the list too. Updated for the 1.1.4 patch. Customs are not taken into account.

Top

  • 1) Sheik
  • 2) Pikachu
  • 3) Rosalina

  • 1) Zero Suit Samus
  • 2) Sonic
  • 3) Mario
  • 4) Ness
  • 5) Corrin
  • 6) Luigi
  • 7) Yoshi

A

  • 1) Villager
  • 2) Fox
  • 3) Ryu
  • 4) Fox
  • 5) Ike
  • 6 Cloud
  • 7) Luigi

A-

  • 1) Bayonetta
  • 2) Yoshi
  • 3) Captain Falcon
  • 4) Diddy Kong
  • 5) Wario

A-

  • 1) Peach
  • 2) Meta Knight
  • 3) Pac Man
  • 4) Mega Man
  • 5) Wii Fit Trainer
  • 6) Greninja
  • 7) R.O.B. - Great recovery, combos, and camping ability. Damage output is ok. Up air needs to be nerfed.
  • 8) Lucas - He's here because of up smash. Neutral game is average
  • 9) Pit - Only above Dark Pit because forward tilt and neutral special are better.
  • 10) Dark Pit
  • 11) Donkey Kong
  • 12) Roy
  • 13) Bowser

B+

  • 1) Lucario
  • 2) Toon Link
  • 3) Mii Brawler
  • 4) Bowser Jr.
  • 5) Link
  • 6) Robin
  • 7) Olimar
  • 8) Shulk

B

  • 1) Ganondorf
  • 2) Mii Gunner
  • 3) Marth
  • 4) Charizard
  • 5) Mr. Game and Watch

C

  • 1) Duck Hunt
  • 2) Kirby
  • 3) Lucina
  • 4) Mr. Game and Watch
  • 5) Dr. Mario
  • 6) Mii Sword Fighter

D

  • 1) Mewtwo - While it has decent moves, its light weight, recovery, and hitbox placement puts Mewtwo near the bottom of the tier list once again.
  • 2) Falco - Decent aerial game, but is pretty sluggish. His attacks aren't very good either.
  • 3) Zelda - Farore's Wind, back throw, and maybe up air are Zelda's only reliable KO moves. Other than that, she really has nothing else worth while other than Phantom Slash, down tilt, and Din's Fire.
  • 4) King Dedede - Very slow and doesn't have too many super powerful attacks unlike other heavy weights. Side Special isn't so great either.

E

  • 1) Samus - Has poor comboing ability, very bad KOing ability, poor specials, and very slow attacks. Her recovery is decent, and her damage output isn't terrible, but she will find herself at 60% before she can even land an attack.
  • 2) Palutena
  • 3) Jigglypuff - Probably the worst special moveset in the game. If Jigglypuff makes one mistake and is above 60%, Jigglypuff will lose a stock. While it's aerial game is very good, this is not enough to make Jigglypuff viable.

Feedback

I feel that you're underestimating Jigglypuff (who does still have a useful air game) and Palutena (awful specials notwithstanding) and overestimating Mii Gunner (definitely not B tier after a few buffs when they were generally regarded to be bottom 5 pre-EVO.) Nyargleblargle (Talk · Contribs) 20:33, 16 October 2015 (EDT)

Doc is too low, Dedede and Mewtwo are too high, Meta Knight is too low, Mii SwordsGunner is too high, and Robin is too high. Other than that, it's good. Ganonmew, The Evil Clone 20:55, 16 October 2015 (EDT)

In addition to the above, here what I would've done in my tier list:

  • Falco and Kirby aren't all that too bad so I would probably say they're around low-mid tier.
  • I feel like Little Mac is an underrated character and I would say he's about 20-30.
  • Bowser is too high, and in my opinion, he's rather kinda low tier.
  • Olimar is also too low and imo Top 20.
  • Captain Falcon is also a bit higher.
  • Roy is great but also a bit too high. However, he could be the best mid tier character.
  • For Lucas, eh, maybe a few spaces lower.
  • Link is probably at 25-35 on the list.
  • Yoshi's position is fine but its somewhat debatable if he should be ranked this high.
  • I would also put Rosalina and Zero Suit Samus in the highest tier as well. Pls, Sheik (and to an extent Pikachu) does not completely dominate the cast.

Despite some questionable placings, you have a good tier list, while a lot of other Smash 4 tier lists that I've seen were pretty bad. Dots (talk) Mega Man X SNES sprite.png The Windows 00:19, 17 October 2015 (EDT)

Hey, are you talking about mine? I personally think it is good! Ganonmew, The Evil Clone 07:39, 17 October 2015 (EDT)

Thanks for all of the feedback. Many of these placements were actually found on some of my older tier lists (Rosalina was first and Kirby was higher.) There are also many characters that I had very limited knowledge on (Olimar, Robin, and and Game and Watch come to mind) so I put them around mid bottom to be safe. I also agree about the lowering the DLC characters. While I do have them, I didn't know where to place them. I just knew that they were above average. As for Mii Gunner, I feel like they can stay there due to amazing range, decent KO power and damage output, and good physics. Doc can be moved slightly higher too.Sausage12 (talk) 07:27, 17 October 2015 (EDT)

@Ganonmew: I never really said that your tier list was bad. Your tier list was good too. Dots (talk) Mega Man X SNES sprite.png The Charlie Brown 19:46, 17 October 2015 (EDT)
