Climhazzard is Cloud's up special move.

Description

Cloud thrusts his sword forward, dealing 3% damage. He is then propelled a moderate distance off the ground (this deals 4%). It will not allow edge grabbing until Cloud enters fallspecial. If the button is pressed again, Cloud will fall and slash downward. This downward slash can deal anywhere from 3-8%, has a sweetspot in the center of Cloud's blade for maximum damage, and the worst sourspot immediately in Cloud's body.

While Cloud is under Limit Break status (see Limit Charge), the initial stab deals 6% and the rising slash deals 7%. If Cloud presses the button again, the falling slash will instead deal 8% to all affected targets. This variant has vastly increased vertical height and horizontal maneuverability.

Common to both versions, the move will not allow grabbing ledges until it concludes. If Cloud inputs for the falling slash, he cannot grab the ledge until his transition animation pauses (after descending some distance already). This will potentially cause a self-destruct.

Customization

Special Move customization was added in Super Smash Bros. 4. These are the known variations:

1. Climhazzard
Climhazzard
"Thrust your sword and then jump into the air. Push the button again for a high-speed downward cut."
  1. Climhazzard: Default.

Like the other DLC characters, Cloud currently lacks custom move variations.
