It is true calling you negative can be considered an attack, but that is in the eye of the beholder; A certain user on the Admin noticeboard felt that they were harassed by users who simply told him to start signing his comments. I personally consider being negative a positive and beneficial trait, as people "[http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/negative marked by denial, prohibition, or refusal]" usually direct the attitude towards bad information and ideas.
