Counter Logic Gaming (CLG) is a Canadian professional eSports organization that League of Legends player George Georgallidis (HotShotGG) founded as a LoL team in 2010. While maintaining the oldest current League division, it has also expanded into first-person shooters such as CS:GO and the Halo series.

In early 2015, HotShotGG expressed interest in possibly entering CLG into Smash Bros. by signing Leffen, who he reached out to on Twitter[1][2] before Leffen was signed by Team SoloMid - CLG's archrival since both organizations' beginnings in League of Legends. On June 14th, 2015, CLG officially entered Smash by signing PewPewU[3].
