The Skill parameter has been removed from Smasher infoboxes, and in its place are the new "Best historical ranking" and "Best tournament result" parameters. SmashWiki needs help adding these new parameters to Smasher infoboxes, refer to the guidelines here for what should be included in these new parameters.
When adding results to Smasher pages, include each tournament's entrant number in addition to the player's placement, and use the Trn template with the matching game specified. The Pitfall is an item confirmed to appear in Brawl. It hails from the Animal Crossing series. When thrown onto the ground, the ball breaks, and leaves no trace of where it landed, and the next person to walk over it is sucked down. This also happens when the item is thrown at an enemy. If used on a floating platform, the character will fall through it, but if used on the ground, the character will just be stuck temporarily as if hit by Donkey Kong's Headbutt. If you throw it at an enemy while he or she is in the air he or she will go straight to the ground, as if Meteor Smashed.

In the original game the pitfall was buried and if anyone stepped on it, the player or otherwise, they would fall into a hole and struggle for about 10 seconds before escaping. In Brawl, the pitfall can be thrown at the floor of platforms or the ground and it will then disappear. When characters are in the ground they look similar to being hit from Donkey Kong's Headbutt. The pitfall can also be thrown at opponents, resulting in them passing through or falling into the platform they're standing on.
This can be used to score easy KO's on Halberd as the bottom is a fall-through platform, and so opponents are meteor smashed through the base to their death This can also work on Custom Stages that have the fall-through platforms as their base.

In the Animal Crossing series, it was a somewhat rare item that, when buried, would cause any character except special visitors who walked over it to fall down into a small pit. This item was one of rarer items in the series and was most commonly found randomly buried. In Animal Crossing: Wild World, it was named Pitfall Seed.

A Pitfall is an item from the Animal Crossing series. In the original game the pitfall was buried and if anyone stepped on it, the player or otherwise, they would fall into a hole and struggle for about 10 seconds before escaping. In Brawl, the pitfall can be thrown at the floor of platforms or the ground and it will then disappear. If a character steps on that ground afterward they will either fall through a thin platform or get stuck in the ground of a thicker platform. When characters are in the ground they look similar to being hit from Donkey Kong's Headbutt. The pitfall can also be thrown at opponents, resulting in them passing through or falling into the platform they're standing on.
