The Battlefield is a very basic stage that appears in all three installments of the Super Smash Bros. series.  It has three platforms above the main stage as shown in the image above.  The platforms do not move and there are no special effects that interfere with the battle.
Battlefield is a remake of the Battlefield stage in Super Smash Bros. Melee.

Battlefield is has the same number of platforms as its Melee counterpart though with updated graphics. It has three platforms above the main stage which you are capable of falling through.

Players can only fight on this stage in Super Smash Bros. when they are battling the Fighting Polygon Team in one player mode. In Super Smash Bros. Melee, all of the multiman melee matches against the Fighting Wire Frames take place here. Players can unlock this stage for personal use after completing All-Star Mode for the first time.  In Super Smash Bros. Brawl, this stage shifts between day and night.  It is most likely a default stage, not a hidden one.
As you fight on Battlefield, the time of day will change from day to evening to night to dawn and then back to day. The music played on this stage is called "Menu 1."<ref>{{Cite web |url=http://www.smashbros.com/en_us/stages/stage01.html |title=Battlefield |date=2007-05-22 |accessdate=2007-11-06 |work=[[Smash Bros.
