History
Zantetsu began his smash career, like most people, by playing casually with friends on the block and eventually stumbling upon competitive matches on YouTube, which began his competitive career in smash. Zantetsu began by playing SSB64 online via "Kaillera" since he lived in a community where no one else played competitive smash besides one of his friends. His SSB64 spree went from June 2006 until he started to slowly disappear around 2009. While he was mostly a SSB64 player from 2006 until 2009, he did play Melee with a friend and ended up becoming competitive in that as well and showed up to 2 tournaments, one which was a Brawl launch tournament in St. Louis and the other was Event 52 which featured players such as Scar, Mew2King, Colbol, Cactuar and more.
Zantetsu began his smash career, like most, by growing up playing both SSB64 and Melee with friends. In 2006, he had learned of, and started to practice, the game at a competitive level. At this time, Roman was 12 years old and there was no smash scene within a 3 hour driving distance up to either Kansas City or St. Louis. Although it didn't limit him from trying to learn Melee, he was left to play with only one other friend dedicated to learning the game on a competitive level as well. This not being enough, Roman discovered Kaillera and began to play SSB64 online as well. His smash spree went from June 2006 until he started to slowly disappear around 2009, as he had started to lose interest in SSB64 online and playing Melee with only one other person.

From 2009 until 2011, Zantetsu had retired from SSB64 due to lag issues and from Melee due to not having a community. In January of 2011, Zantetsu discovered "Zivilyn Bane", a smasher who originated from California and Kansas City. "Zivilyn Bane" contacted Zantetsu on Smashboards informing him that he lives in Springfield and is interested in forming a crew. Zantetsu and "Zivilyn Bane" decided to meet at a casual smash tournament and played many friendlies. Since then, Zantetsu and "Zivilyn Bane" have converted 3-5 players into competitive Melee players and have been quite active in the Missouri smash scene since and have even hosted a Midwest Regional Tournament known as Midwest Improvement Smash Tournament (MIST) in their once non-existent smash community. They plan to attend the upcoming FC-LEGACY tournament in July of 2012.
In January of 2011, Zivilyn Bane, a smasher who originated from California and Kansas City, moved into Roman's area and contacted him through Smashboards. Interested in forming a crew, they met up and ended up stumbling upon a Brawl monthly tournament series in the area through All is Brawl. Both players attended, started to play Melee alongside the Brawl tournaments, and converted a few of the Brawl players to Melee players, forming a small crew in Springfield, MO of roughly 3-6 people. This remained somewhat stagnant for a while, gaining roughly a person or two to the crew every 6 months or so, and grinding 2-3 hour trips for other Missouri tournaments when they could.

Trivia
Roman has only attended 1 national tournament, which was EVO 2013. He did not make it out of 1st round pools. Only top 2 advanced from each pool, and he unfortunately came out in 3rd place, losing only to Hax and Boback
*Zantetsu's old alias was "BHLMRO" which was changed in November of 2007.

*Zantetsu also plays traditional fighters for fun, but takes "Super Street Fighter IV: Arcade Edition" quite seriously.
Springfield, MO, like many communities, ended up becoming much larger over the course of Melee being at EVO in 2013, the announcement and release of Smash 4, the raising popularity of Project_M, and the release of the Smash documentary. Since than, Roman now manages a Springfield Smash group on Facebook consisting of over 100 members, with around 30 active players for a city of only 100,000 people. Since his return in 2011, Roman stayed exclusive to Melee up until the release of Project_M 3.5 in December 2014 and until March of 2015, when he decided to return to SSB64 online and on console when available. He has began to take both SSB64 and Melee more seriously than ever before, and hoping to climb the rankings as far as he can go.
