Melee
Hylian entered the competitive scene with Melee in 2003. Originally a Marth main, he switched to Fox and Samus soon after in 2004. Known for his technical style and unmatched laser game with Fox, he frequently attended tournaments in the Texas scene before retiring from Melee in 2009 to focus on Brawl. In 2014 he picked up Melee again and practices with Darkatma, though he has yet to enter any major melee tournament since his return. His most notable placing was 13th at Apex 2009.
Brawl
Hylian was a top Brawl player from 2008-2010, taking tournament sets off notable players such as Tyrant, Dojo, Lain and more. He brought the Ice Climbers inescapable grab combos to attention in Texas after his 1st place finish with them at a large texas tournament HOBO4. He is known for being the first player to use their standing infinites in tournament, and for developing their footstool chaingrabs(hobbling) after Texas banned IC's from using infinite chaingrabs in tournament play. While more known for his IC's, he originally mained G&W and saw much success with the character. Notable placings include 1st at various regionals, and top 32 at most nationals.
Project M
Hylian entered the Project M scene during 2.1's release as a Link main. Showcasing various tricks the character could do, he was often ranked the #1 Link main by people until 2.6 when others started seeing success with the character. Soon after entering the scene he joined the Project M Development team as a playtester. His main focus is balance testing and he contributes to many characters, with Ice Climbers being his main focus of development. Hylian has used various characters in tournaments including: Link, Lucario, Mario, Ice Climbers, Fox, Roy. He currently mains Ice Climbers.
Smash 4
Hylian mains Shulk, Bowser Jr., and Pac-Man in Smash4. Despite the fact that he was a top brawl player, he has professed to not enjoying Smash 4 citing it as "having lost player expression somewhere in the process of adding combos without meaningful movement options". It is yet to be seen if he will be attending tournaments for the game.
