I disagree with the page being deleted for the reason of "Notability." The definition for notability is as follows:

"Has participated in or organized an offline tournament that is run by standard tournament rules or a reasonably similar variant, and has some level of regional or national recognition."

As you can see, he consistently places in the Top 8 in his region and consistently placing Top 16 at regionals in Southern California. He has also attended every Apex to date. Just by asking other notable players, such as DeLux and MJG, you can easily find that he is a part of our community.

"Has contributed high-level content to, or administrates at, recognized websites pertaining to Smash Bros. other than this wiki."

He often helps out lower and mid level Toon Link players by constructively criticizing their videos on SmashBoards.The most recent posting of his for example

Mass Deletion Of Smasher's Background Information

To whom it may concern,

I was told to be in violation of SW:1RV for reverting background information that has been on the page since its creation and its approved notability. If there was parts of the background information in question, then it should have been brought here to the talk page before it was all deleted. All of his accomplishments can be accounted for, and were not fabricated. I can understand wanting to remove his nickname, but there is absolutely no reason to delete all his background information. If you wanted to remove his other non-smash related hobbies, please do so, do not delete all of his Smash history. (His guitar hobby was included because it is well known in his regional community, similar to Rich Brown's jazz piano career).

He is well known in the competitive community for being unfairly seeded, and has often had to contact Keitaro directly about it. His most notable wins against M2K and Chris G are completely related to Smash career, and deserve an explanation since they are the reason he is known in the competitive community. (In both the NYC and SoCal scenes). Yes that was the name of Bum's tourney, if you have a question about it I would suggest contacting Bum on Twitter. Why does being known as the 5th best Toon Link in Brawl have to be deleted? That is a part of his notability.

I assume all of these edits came about because of an anonymous user that has often returned to the page to change "California," to something silly. I would not mind some semi-protection on this page to avoid it happening again. I do mind having his entire Smash history deleted when that history is what sets him apart in the competitive community.

I do not appreciate having over 1,000 bytes of data deleted from the page with no explanation, then being told I cannot revert such a mass deletion of information. I will be reverting the deleted information, and then removing his nickname and hobbies.

For starters, you misspelled my name (there's no "i" in it).

Second, the information that is being reverted is unencyclopedic and just plain not notable and unnecessary. Just because an admin approved this page's notability is no reason to re-add it. Rtzxy Reflect! 20:51, 24 December 2014 (EST)

Information such as "He is the fifth best Toon Link in the United States" is very important in an article; your ranking with a character is a big factor in showcasing your skill level, and that is important information to have in a smasher article. Also, defeating Mew2King is considered a very great achievement in the Smash Bros. scene, and that is important to have in the article to display someone's achievements. You may think the information is not true, but if that's the case, look it up first and then remove it, don't get rid of it claiming that it's unencyclopedic.

Also, if you don't like people misspelling your name, ignore it or change it to a more readable name that's easier to spell or pronounce. It's much easier to change your own actions than get other people to change theirs. Awesome Cardinal 2000 21:03, 24 December 2014 (EST)

It's hard to spell a name that doesn't have vowels for me. My brain automatically puts the vowels in. Sorry. He approved the notability when the information was there, I made the changes in the first few edits that got it it's approval. Then I made the other necessary edits like removing his nickname. Please take it up with Miles if you want information deleted. Thank you.

Two parts still need to be removed:

Southpaw is best known for defeating both Mew2King and Chris G in Brawl tournaments. Southpaw's teammate is HelpR, including teaming with Southpaw in the aforementioned games against Mew2King.

Google results for strings such as "southpaw mew2king", "southpaw helpr smash bros", and "southpaw chrisg" turn up no valid results, and many of these searches actually cause this article to appear first; in the case of "southpaw mew2king", this is especially damning, as according to Ac2k above, "defeating Mew2King is considered a very great achievement in the Smash Bros. scene." I would imagine someone would've posted a thread on Smashboards or a blog on AiB if this were the case.

He is also known for discovering a Yoshi Training Mode combo counter exploit. A video of this exploit can be found on his YouTube page here.

I doubt he is known for discovering it. There's a lot of videos on this. :/

He definitely did discover it. Find me an earlier date than that video please, or even an earlier thread dated before then. I was with him when it was discovered and posted on Smashboards. I posted it on reddit.

Also, he definitely beat M2K at Bum's tournament. I was there, so was a good handful of people including M2K. I can even go find the date MikeHaze announced it on facebook. M2K's teammate was Izumi, who is an average toon link and metaknight main.

As for ChrisG, he went to a tourney that was held at 1pm Friday when most people were at work and school. He won a $25 Best Buy gift card for winning the free tourney that took him months to receive. The Chris G. bit is a cute story, but not notable, since you and the blog in question state that it was a low-key affair that means little. I won two tournaments in my high school a few years ago, does that make me a notable smasher?

I still have my reservations about the entire M2K shindig, and I frankly don't have the patience to do the research for it tonight. I guess it is notable enough for inclusion, but only if the images in question are sourced.

This reddit post predates Southpaw's video by almost two weeks. So no, he did not strictly discover it. And an entire 3,000 hits does not make you "known" in YouTube terms.

And for God's sake, do everything in one post. It gets frustrating to say something, then get repeatedly edit conflict'd.

I could source the images, but what's the point of linking a FB post you can't see? You would have to add them as friends, then they would have to accept you. If you want to take the time, I would suggest messaging them about the pictures directly. Also cool, we have never seen the reddit post. Guess he was the first to discover it on Smashboards? Shout-out to reddit. Chris G. is a notable player in the fighting game community and I consider Smash a fighting game. It was a low key event, but he still beat Chris G, and that's something important he is known for in the community.
