Merge.png It has been suggested that this article or section be merged with Special Melee.
The reason given for the merge is: call it "Special mode", just like the Multi-Man pages. (Discuss)

The many different options of a Special Smash

Special Brawl is a versus mode available in Super Smash Bros. Brawl, and Special Smash is a versus mode in Super Smash Bros. for Wii U. It is a successor to the Special Melee mode from Super Smash Bros. Melee.

Unlike Melee's Special mode, where only one special condition could be played at any time, Special Brawl allows several options to be applied at the same time. One can even play without any options, and simply play a normal match where records are not recorded.
