Holding down the A button allows for a charged attack with greater power but additional vulnerability before and after use, similar to a [[smash attack]]. Players also have access to a [[shield]] by using the [[R button]], and can [[counterattack]] out of it with the A button if an attack is shielded at the last second.

There are five different choices in StreetSmash. StreetSmash lets you battle everyone you have met using [[StreetPass]] who has the game as well. there is a maximum of 12 people who can wait for you to fight them. Practice lets you fight against up to 12 opponents. It is the same as StreetSmash except you gain gold at a reduced rate you fight generated opponents and not people met via [[StreetPass]]. Profile lets you change your greeting with a maximum of 17 characters. Also you can select a token to use from all of the 49 fighters. Records lets you view the past fights. you can view your opponent's greeting and the results for the match. pressing the [[X button]] lets you view what token was fought most, survived most and easiest K.O'd. Tutorial lets you view the tutorial of StreetSmash that was shown the first time you open StreetSmash again.
