In the past several months, we've received much much info about Smash 4 gameplay. One question I've been seeking for input for is how many stocks will a competitive SSB4 match have. The developers meant for the game speed to be between Melee (4) and Brawl (3). The problem here is that from my perspetive while the gameplay speed has improved, the pacing of 1v1 matches is pretty much the same as Brawl's, if not worse. (The preceding statement may or may not be biased since the only footage of ssb4 available is people who...suck at this game). This leads me to believe that the average match should have 2 or 3 stocks.

Forums: Index Smash 4 Talk Number of stocks in a tournament-style game

In the past several months, we've received much much info about Smash 4 gameplay. One question I've been seeking for input for is how many stocks will a competitive SSB4 match have. The developers meant for the game speed to be between Melee (4) and Brawl (3). The problem here is that from my perspetive while the gameplay speed has improved, the pacing of 1v1 matches is pretty much the same as Brawl's, if not worse. (The preceding statement may or may not be biased since the only footage of ssb4 available is people who...suck at this game). This leads me to believe that the average match should have 2 or 3 stocks.

What do you guys think? Chilex (talk) 22:27, 28 August 2014 (EDT)

I think we should wait for the bloody game to be released before we form opinions in the first place.

And just how much do you think will change in the next two weeks/several months? Most definitely not much at all, especially gameplay-wise.

Invalid point. Whether or not more things change does not affect Crow's opinion that thoughts about gameplay and such should be completed after a game release. If this was not a clear indication that he wasn't just adding a post to make the forum slightly more interesting, as opposed to actually having a significant amount of interest in the forum topic at hand, then I don't know what to say to you.
