Pac-Jump (パックマンジャンプ, Pac-Jump) is Pac-Man's up special move in Super Smash Bros. 4.
Overview
Pac-Man turns into his ball form and summons a trampoline that stays in mid-air. The trampoline can be bounced on by anyone two more times, with each subsequent bounce launching characters higher than the last, but a third time causes it to break and the user to become helpless.
Customization
Customization was introduced in Super Smash Bros. 4. These are the two variations:
- Meteor Trampoline: Loses vertical recovery. The trampoline will meteor smash the player who touches it when it is red.
- Super Pac-Jump: The trampoline bounces Pac-Man higher, giving him more vertical recovery. However, the trampoline vanishes instantly.
Origin
Pac-Man's Ball Form originates from his sprite in the very first Pac-Man game.
The trampoline is a reference to another Bandai Namco game known as Mappy. In the game, there were several trampolines that start out as green. Every time they are bounced on, they change color to blue, yellow, and red. When bounced on when red, it breaks apart, leaving Mappy helpless.
