Welcome to my talk page! Before you post any messages, there are some rules I'd like to be followed here (yes, I have to follow them too).
- Post all new topics under ==this type of== header.
- Sign all comments using ~~~~
- No removing or changing content here, unless you're correcting your own grammar, or you're striking something out you wrote.
- All SmashWiki rules and guidelines apply.
- I do Brawl online. However, requests to do so will not be taken on this talk page. Ask me on IRC instead, and if I'm not on IRC, I can't Brawl.

Welcome back!
I thought I finished you off all those months ago... I mean, great to see you're back! :D --HavocReaper48 20:04, 8 December 2011 (EST)
- Awww, thanks. I missed you too. :) DoctorPain99 {ROLLBACKER} 23:19, 9 December 2011 (EST)
- So you are back but not for long.... Maybe after Wednesday you can help me construct up and down smash charts for Melee, as I know you are pretty familiar with that game. Mr. Anontalk 00:19, 10 December 2011 (EST)
- I'll be back for at least 4 weeks. Finals are next week, then I have three weeks off. Hopefully I won't be too busy so I can help. DoctorPain99 {ROLLBACKER} 11:22, 10 December 2011 (EST)

You are treating me like a baby. You have to give some respect to me. Marioisawesome118 18:02, 1 February 2012 (EST)
- Nothing I said violates SW:AGF. All it says is to treat you like you are attempting to help the Wiki, unless there is specific evidence to the contrary. I never strayed from that. You used incorrect grammar and spelling and violated SW:1RV multiple times, even after users told you not to. I was simply telling you (in a sarcastic way) to not do those things. I am not trying to treat you like a baby. DoctorPain99 {ROLLBACKER} 18:08, 1 February 2012 (EST)

@Mario118, this whole thing is just a misunderstanding. Perhaps DP99 did not handle the situation in the best way, but this isn't the place to be a drama queen. Quit it and do something more constructive to earn the respect you want. --Havoc48 >:D!!! 20:38, 1 February 2012 (EST)

- You kinda are, actually. Dr. Pain gave you some relevant advice for you to follow as to make you a better editor in the future. He didn't personally attack you or otherwise offend you, and you feel the need to complain about being "treated like a baby" on two pages...at the same time. You're essentially putting your ego ahead of your abilities; you're unable to take constructive criticism of any sort, and you're blowing your supposed offense at this advice to extreme proportions. --- ReiDemon, Author Extraordinaire, 21:40, 1 February 2012 (EST)

Spelling and grammar
I don't think it would be neccesary for me to check my spelling and grammar in the future. Besides, I could mispell "laughs" for instance like "laffs" on purpose. Also, I could make grammatical errors like this: "Why did happen?". I'm not being rude or anything but please, Pain, is it okay if I made typos and grammar errors on purpose. Also, you do speak another language right or is english the only language you speak? Marioisawesome118 11:35, 17 September 2012 (EDT)

IRC
First of all, I like that you ignored the perfectly good reasons I gave in the rule itself for the existence of the rule, and simply went with "that's stupid". Real constructive, bro. Second of all, you don't enforce it per se, you just expect users to abide by the rules and not be dicks. If you suspect someone of ignoring another user, you ask them if that's the case, and if so then why, and how can you help resolve this issue for them. Third of all, since when was adding one tiny rule about IRC without community discussion against the rules? What's your problem with the rule? Other than it being "stupid", of course... PenguinofDeath 18:04, 5 April 2013 (EDT)
- Because I don't trust the administration to properly deal with users that are being disruptive. The best example I have is Piratehunter, who was allowed to freely personally attack people on IRC without any sort of negative repercussion. The way people would deal with him while the ops did nothing about him was by use of the ignore command, and it was neither rude nor deconstructive. Furthermore, if I want to use the ignore command, I want to use the ignore command, end of story. The ops should have no say in that matter; there isn't any reason they should have any say in that matter. If you want, you can add a clause that discourages the use of the ignore command, but banning it is unnecessary authoritarianism.
- And the fact that I don't use IRC or the fact that I have never used the ignore command is irrelevant; I disagree on principle after seeing its positiveness in action. DoctorPain99 18:12, 5 April 2013 (EDT)
- I agree with Dr. Pain and although he effectively summarizes my opinion, I'd like to add the fact that SmashWiki has no right to control what users do on other IRC channels (save PMs). If you are ignoring a user on another, less moderated channel, and that user happens to arrive on #SW, is it mandated that you unignore them? Finally, while there's nothing against PoD adding the rule in the first place, the spirit of SW:1RV holds that there should be some kind of community consensus before further implementing rules. Mr. Anontalk 18:18, 5 April 2013 (EDT)
- Piratehunter is a bad example, he was from an age when the channel was a lot more lenient and there weren't set rules, he wouldn't get away with what he did then today. Omega Tyrant 18:37, 5 April 2013 (EDT)
- DP: So your argument is based on stuff from years ago which is now irrelevant because op coverage is better in all regards, the fact that you want to do whatever you want to do on IRC despite presumably respecting all other rules on SW:IRC, and the fact that you never use IRC or the command in question in the first place? Is that an accurate summary of the above? Cos tbh that's a terrible argument... Are you keeping actual logic in reserve for some reason?
- Anon: Your argument is just technicalities. There's no need to ignore a whole bunch of users so you can have multiple conversations at once. What if one of them wanted to join in, but you had them on ignore, and they were talking to you and taking interest in your conversation? How much of an ass would you look? Why not just take it to another channel, or PM? And no, we can't control what goes on on other channels, but you shouldn't have to ignore users on other channels for the same reasons that you should never have to ignore a user on #sw. If a channel you frequent has bad op coverage, that's not our problem, that's your duty to get your beloved IRC channel better equipped to deal with people who need to be banned. And you're saying the the spirit of 1RV is that someone can revert without any logical argument, and that's taken seriously and requires a community consensus? Is not the most basic spirit of any wiki policy to always use common sense? PenguinofDeath 18:38, 5 April 2013 (EDT)
- You say I have a bad argument but then argue that you should ban ignore because it "makes users look like they're an ass." Yeah, whatever. Because we can't have that. DoctorPain99 18:48, 5 April 2013 (EDT)
- I've pointed out that there exist cases where using ignore would be acceptable. You pointed out cases where it would be unacceptable. Cool. Just because it might not be acceptable in many cases doesn't mean it should be banned. DoctorPain99 18:49, 5 April 2013 (EDT)
- You're argument also hinges on hypotheticals. If I'm ignoring a user who has a history of harassing me, there's no reason why I should be forced to see his or her posts. Banning the ignore user function creates an unnecessary restriction. If someone is abusing the ignore function to the point where it is impossible to contact, then that violates existing rules of the IRC, notably those regarding idling and lurking. Other than that, just because you personally find users who use it annoying does not mean it should be an enforced rule on IRC.
- When we discussed other examples on IRC, I brought up PM harassment. You countered that this violates existing rules. However, it is not always the case that an admin is active on the channel. If an admin is inactive, there is no reason why users should be forced to see posts they find harassing. The case can be made that in mod inactivity, the ignore function is acceptable, but if we further extend this to an admin disagreeing with a user over what is disruptive. In this case, ignoring the user I find disruptive causes no harm to the IRC, and if the user I ignore desperately needs to contact me they can ask someone else to send me a message.
- Finally, don't strawman me over 1RV. Clearly there is community dispute over your change, and there are users who dispute that this is "common sense". Instead of claiming users who disagree with you lack skills in logic, how about you give a substantial reason for your proposal that goes beyond "I find it rude" and "I haven't needed to use it."? This is just dumb. I don't know if the socks on that page are all you, but it's clear at least one of them is and the others are the rest of your goon squad.
What is the purpose of making crap edits just to mess with people and constantly reverting them? It doesn't really accomplish anything other than increase edit volume (which might raise the site in some of Wikia's lists and make it more visible). And why pick on Oscuritaforze? Just because he happens to be on our IRC lately?

Hey DP, I just came to say I'm sorry about what happened at the MK page. I was just trying to add anything to an article that I can, whether if it's important or not, but I guess what said there really don't mean anything. And I'm sorry for the way I behaved. I didn't come to this website to cause any trouble. Smashdude10 (talk) 18:43, 27 March 2014 (EDT)
