I've recently had my Wii disc reader break from old age (Sept 27, '08-Mar 17 '13 R.I.P. Wii), so I can no longer play Melee or Brawl. However, when this happened, I purchased SSB64 for the Virtual Console and have been training nonstop for a long time. I'd love to play a worthy opponent sometime, though I wouldn't know how to find one.

At a friends' get-together recently, I found my new technical prowess with Captain Falcon in SSB64 translated exceedingly well (with minor recalibration) to his appearance in Melee--a game I haven't touched seriously since 07, which seems absurd in hindsight--with my one-on-one and 4P free-for-all records being substantially higher than that of everyone else's in attendance. I don't know what this means for my skill level, though I greatly enjoy the series either way and will happily Brawl anyone if/when my Wii is fixed.
On the weekend of April 12, 2014, my best friend Spabble and I went to a local St. Louis convention (ASTL) and, for the first time, met and played two professional Smashers, Andale and BlackPanther, in Melee (as well as setting up Project M on a nearby Wii). We didn't beat them by any means but were a lot closer than I could even have hoped for, nearly beating Andale under tournament conditions when he was on a team with a more casual player. Playing against casual players was a different matter, as Spabble and I went for more than 30 or 40 consecutive rounds undefeated in Team Battles. While I might never be the best, I can be content with where I am for now, since being "that guy at the party who's really great at Smash" is a pretty fun title to hold.

About Me

I'm just your average nerd, wandering my way through life drifting along on my smarts.

Having been diagnosed with high functioning autism at a fairly early age, video games have been a special interest of mine for a very long time now. I've always been a huge fan of Super Smash Bros., but only recently began to shift from using a great casual (which is like being a level 11+ CPU) to a more professional technical playstyle. My brother (and junior by 2 years) has always kicked my ass using his natural Smash Bros. talent until recently when my technique training began to be more vigorous (though he sandbags constantly, skewing my perspective of both his and my true skill level).

General Skill Analysis
