+This item originates from the 3DS launch game ''Steel Diver'' where players pilot submarines and fire torpedoes at enemies. When the torpedoes were fired, their speed started off slow but would speed up afterward. In ''Super Smash Bros. 4'', the particular submarine that is used in the design of the gun is the Blue Shark, and the torpedoes it launches in ''SSB4'' behave the same as in ''Steel Diver''.
-A 3DS launch game titled "Steel Diver" had the player piloting a submarine and shooting torpedoes at enemies. These torpedoes would blast off slow and then fly faster to where the player aimed, just like how the weapon behaves in ''Smash Bros.'' Although the item looks original in it's creation, it is visually based on the player's medium sized submarine from the same game.
