Brawl's extreme difficulty on a competitive level is very subtle, as it requires a lot of practice with specific matchups and characters to win. The characters I mained were generally sub-par compared to other high tiers and all were countered by Meta-Knight, so I always had a losing battle against any Meta Knight I faced on wifi. I feel that the game at times tend to limit my technical ability and actually makes me worse if I do not constantly practice and wifi (with its 8 or more frame input lag) makes this matter worse. I can beat most lower level players, but if you live at least 1000 miles from the United States I will tend to do poorly than I believe I will. Wifi is the primary reason I quit Brawl, as Brawl's high demand for tournament experience and correct spacing prevented me from progressing competitively. | Brawl's extreme difficulty on a competitive level is very subtle, as it requires a lot of practice with specific matchups and characters to win. As for Melee, I | As for Melee, it has been a bumpy road. I initially prefered Project M over it, due to the game being more welcoming tech-skill wise, but I transitioned to Melee in February of this year and have begun practicing Falco and Ganondorf. I do fairly well with my former mains, Jigglypuff and Dr. Mario as well as my former Brawl main, Mr. Game and Watch. I have been putting work into mastering wavelanding as well as turn-around lasers from Falco and waveshining. The physics change will take some time, but I think I shall improve to a decent level by the end of the year. I still play Project M but I don't have the urge to play the game competitively at this point; the complexity of the plethora of matchups I have to learn is very difficult without intensive focus on the game. I also have been too lazy to download the full version. | ||

I attempted to play Pokémon competitively as well. I bought Pokémon X in October and have over 300 hours on it already. The game seemed enjoyable, but I was turned off from playing competitively to the extensive time it took to develop a team and my overall poor team building skills. I feel the RPG is holding me back in competitive Smash as well, so I have been reluctant to play competitively. I play based on Smogon rules as much as I can, but my lack of access to previous games and lack of effective resources to and knowledge to build a team seriously set me back. If you want to add me on the 3DS, just leave a message on my talk page. FC: '''5198-2935-7260''' | I attempted to play Pokémon competitively as well. About Me
Hello. I have been playing the Smash Bros. series since I received Melee in 2006. I played Melee casually until I got Brawl in 2008, and played that casually up until early 2012, when I joined the IRC chat on this wiki. I played Brawl competitively on wifi untill around January of 2014, and then switched to Super Smash Flash 2 and Melee. I have to thank the wiki and AllisBrawl for helping me get to where I am.
As for Melee, it has been a bumpy road. As for Super Smash Flash 2, it is one of my favorite games to play on the PC and is more enjoyable than Brawl or Project M for me. I don't see what the hate is about it.
