The Same color glitch is a glitch in Super Smash Bros. Brawl in VS Mode that causes two or more players to have the same palette swap, without Team Battle and without shading seen in Team Battle.

How to perform the glitch

Requirements

  • Two or more players
  • VS mode
  1. One player (P1) must be set to Human and choose a character and the desired color scheme (ex: Red Mario)
  2. Another player (P2) must be set to Human and choose the same character. (P2 should end up as Fire Mario)
  3. Change P1 to None.
  4. Change P2 to the color scheme previously used by P1. (Red Mario)
  5. Turn Team Battle on.
  6. Change P1 to Human.
  7. Turn Team Battle off.

If done correctly, both players should be the same palette swap (Red Mario) at the start pf the match. This glitch can be done using any character by any combination of controller ports. However, the glitch will fix itself after the match is finished/exited. (Lower controller port will be Red Mario and higher port will be Fire Mario.)

This glitch can also be done by three or four players, as well as CPUs. Each additional player should perform steps 2-7, but each player must be done individually and all existing players will have to drop out/join in steps 3 and 6.
