Chris AlphaZealot Brown joined Smashboards in 2003. He began playing in, and helping run, Smash tournaments in 2004 and has since staffed over 60 different competitive gaming events. In 2010, he became the Tournament Director for Brawl on the MLG Pro Circuit and would later serve in the same role for Halo Reach, King of Fighters XII, Soul Calibur V, and Mortal Kombat 9. AlphaZealot's last event with Major League Gaming was in Raleigh in August, 2012.
On July 27, 2012, AlphaZealot was inducted into the inaugural SWF Hall of Fame for his work as a Tournament Organizer.
On November 20, 2012 AlphaZealot, through his company Xyelot LLC, purchased Smashboards.com and its related assets from Major League Gaming Inc.
