'''AlphaZealot''' is a Smash journalist who has worked for Major League Gaming (MLG) since September, 2005 with the sole purpose of creating Smash content for MLG's website. He is currently a student at Ohio State and a member of the Maryland based crew [[Power Underwhelming]] and the Virginia based crew [[Team No Respect]]. He also maintains close ties with the Team Arlington and the Central Ohio Krew. In addition to his work with MLG, AlphaZealot has also been a moderator at SmashBoards, with control over the Midwest Regional Discussion, Tournament Discussion, and Melee Discussion, and as of November 27, 2012, is now the owner of SmashBoards.
Chris '''AlphaZealot''' Brown joined Smashboards in 2003. He began playing in, and helping run, Smash tournaments in 2004 and has since staffed over 60 different competitive gaming events. In 2010, he became the Tournament Director for Brawl on the MLG Pro Circuit and would later serve in the same role for Halo Reach, King of Fighters XII, Soul Calibur V, and Mortal Kombat 9. AlphaZealot's last event with Major League Gaming was in Raleigh in August, 2012.

==Competitive Smash==
On July 27, 2012, AlphaZealot was inducted into the inaugural SWF Hall of Fame for his work as a Tournament Organizer.

AlphaZealot's competitive debut was at Bomb 1 in Potomac, Maryland. He had begun his competitive career months earlier when close friend and Smash mentor The Muffin King began teaching him the game. Much of his early competitive history is mared by early tournament exits, usually foregoing doubles and occasionaly leaving singles in the middle of a tournament.
On November 20, 2012 AlphaZealot, through his company Xyelot LLC, purchased Smashboards.com and its related assets from Major League Gaming Inc.

==MLG Feature Writer==

AlphaZealot began his writing career with Major League Gaming in 2005. Since then he has released dozens of articles covering the competitive community through interviews, post event wrap ups, and informative peices.

==One Handed Smash==
In 2005 AlphaZealot learned to play Smash one handed while training with ChuDat. After weeks of practice he eventually created the only existing guide [http://smashboards.com/showthread.php?t=46845&highlight=hand|guide to one handed Smash].  He plays money matches with ChuDat a few times a year, with each match being a battle for 'best in the world' status at one handed Smash. Each match is Peach (AlphaZealot) versus Marth (Chudat) in a best of 3 on Final Destination.
-Bomb 4: AlphaZealot lost 1-2
-MLG Chicago: AlphaZealot won 2-1
-CCX (September): AlphaZealot lost 2-0
-C3 (February): AlphaZealot lost 2-1
