All item blocks are retained, even the hidden block in world 1-1 that contained a 1-up.

Mushroomy Kingdom's side scrolling properties make it techincally the largest stage. However, New Pork City is the largest non-scrolling stage on ''BRAWL''.  It scrolls until it reaches the flag on the ending of Super Mario Bros. when it reaches the flag, it restarts.
It may also load the alternate underground level, World 1-2, also based of the stage with the same name. Like the regular version, this stage slowly scrolls to the right and players must come up with different strategies to win. The 10-coin block can be hit multiple times to produce multiple items.

Mushroomy Kingdom is a stage in Super Smash Bros. Brawl that is actually comprised of two stages, based on the actual first two levels of the game Super Mario Bros. -- from time to time, World 1-2, an underground level, will load, instead of World 1-1. The stages are given a more realistic look, with the stage based on World 1-1 actually being made to look worn down, dusty, even ancient and ruin-like, and the World 1-2 stage having a cave-like background, and even torches lighting the area. The stage slowly scrolls to the right, in similar fashion to the side scrolling Mario games. The stage loops indefinitely; when the end is reached the screen continues to scroll to reveal the beginning of the stage again. All item blocks are retained, even the hidden block in world 1-1 that contained a 1-up.

It may also load the alternate underground level, World 1-2, also based of the stage with the same name. Like the regular version, this stage slowly scrolls to the right and players must come up with different strategies to win. The 10-coin block can be hit multiple times to produce multiple items.

  • You can ensure you go to World 1-1 on the Mushroomy Kingdom stage by holding down a button as you select the stage. For the GameCube and Classic Controllers, hold down the X or Y Buttons. For the Wii Remote control scheme, use the A Button, and for the Nunchuk and Wii Remote combo, hold down the Z Button.
  • If you feel like you’d like to play Mushroomy Kingdom’s World 1-2, you can choose that one as well. When playing with the GameCube or Classic Controller, hold down the L Button or R Button while selecting the stage to go to World 1-2. When using a Wii Remote, hold the B Button, and when using the Nunchuk and Wii Remote combo, hold down the C Button. [1]
